How the hell do I burn MKV/MPEG files to DVD?
I am trying to make a dvd for my friend.
Literally all I want to do is drag and drop five movies onto the dvd and burn them. Nero will not let me do it because it doesn't recognise the file types. I have tried using different programs, I have tried converting the video file to .avi and THEN burning them. NOTHING is working and I am fucking frustrated beyond belief because I've never had this problem before. What the fuck am I supposed to do?

just burning the files or authoring the files to be recognized in all dvd players like normal dvd movies?
cause if it's turn them into a movie dvd, yah nero sucks for that. But if you need just a burning files to a dvd software, try this, I've used this, it works just fine. http://www.imgburn.com/

Yeah, this program works really well. Darren - I usually use Nero for throwing together music cds, since I can do it quickly. I've never had a problem with video before. What a giant pain in the ass!

I use Ashampoo for burning media . Much better than nero

Anything is better then nero. That shit can break parts of your system for no reason at all. Imageburn is excellent.

I use the LG burning software that came with my LG bluray burner. Mostly cause if I want to get the overwrite feature, I have to use it. it will take discs that burn at x2 and make it burn at x6 speeds. It's awesome for that. Main reason I got it. I get full discs burnt in 10 mins for bluray.
x6 speeds discs burn at x10. But I wished I waited a bit, the new model is a x12 burner  bah oh well, only shaves off like 4 mins.
