I normally think he's a douche, this time I agree with him.

Well they still have Kojima. It's the one thing Konami still has going for it. But KojiPro needs to come up with something fast will it stay relevant in the gaming business. I don't see Konami going under very fast though as they also do other things besides videogames. Among things I believe they also have fitness studios and such in Japan. But I agree with Sterling that the time that Konami produced constant classics or even (high) quality games have come and gone.

In 2011 Konami were the 6th largest video game publisher after (Microsoft, Nintendo, Activision, Electronic Arts and Sony) 3rd Software only publisher. Don't think they have to worry quite yet. The new set of figures should be out soon.
SEGA just released there own and they were pretty dire. http://www.softwaretop100.org/global...0-edition-2011 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection wasn't difficult to find in the UK it got No.2/No.3 in the chart on the XB360/PS3 respectively. That's better then all the other HD collections released so far. It's also not uncommon for companies to release small titles with little to no fanfare like Blades of Time (Activision did the same with games like Singularity/Wolfenstein) there just games they had to faith in but are already nearly finished. Silent Hill HD/Downpour has had plenty of advertisement. I'm not even really a Konami fan but he's talking quite a bit of nothing. |

Well their current market position as a publisher Konami acquired during the decades before when they released constant first party games that were all huge commercial successes, genre makers and franchise builders. MGS, Silent Hill, ZOE or even more cult hits like Snatcher and Policenauts. Now they are mostly just outsourcing their franchises to third parties and only publishing them, rarely being involved in active development. All the massive creative talent that used to be at Konami is completely gone. That isn't reflected in mere business figures. Under the current circumstance Konami would have never acquired the market position they have. And I doubt they will be able to maintain it if they don't change their ways fast.

First time I've seen that guy talk and he annoys me greatly. Also I believe theres a mistype in the threads title. Its supposed to read, Konami are brutally shit and deserve to have all their executives raped by pyramid head. PS2 was their last greatest performance. Releasing fucking glorious games like SH2/3, ZOE 1/2, Shadow of Memories, Suikoden 3/5, MGS2, WTF HAVE YOU DONE THIS GEN YOU USELESS CUNTS!

Awwh what's up with all the Jim Sterling hate? I like him, he's one of the few guys who doesn't bullshit and is generally quite down to earth about stuff. And he's fucking gorgeus, might I add.

Maybe Konami was also faring a little better if Kojima actually started creating some new games instead of just being occupied by how trendy his clothes look and posting twitter pics of his breakfast, lunch and supper every day. |

You can't blame Konami's piss poor output on Kojima when they will only let him make Metal Gear.

People keep saying that but how many Metal Gear games has he made or even announced in recent years that aren't ports? None.

True - but the decline of Silent Hill and Suikoden are squarely at Konami's feet - not Kojima's.

Kojima working on Suikoden would be great. The series needs a strong creative director, and I think he could get into it.

I dont think he knows anything about RPG's but it sure would be cool to see him try.
At least it should have a good plot. Realisticly speaking, hes just stuck doing more MGS as usual.
