3D Monitor - worth the scratch?

One option on my new notebook is to upgrade the 1080P screen to one with 3D capabilities and a set of glasses. Do any of you wealthier guys think the 3D effect in games is worth paying that much extra for? I'd also watch a few 3D Blu-Rays, most likely. But I've never experienced 3D at home, period, so I have no idea.

It depends on the actual game. Batman for example is awesomely done. I'd recommend seeing it in person to demo it first. No different to testing out a 3D tv.

if you do get one .. dont bother with an hdmi lead .. 3d doesnt work over hdmi with the pc, just use he dvi cable they come with. 3d games and blu rays work a treat in fullHD

Thanks for the advice, gents! I may just take the plunge... I do already have both Batman Arkham games on Steam...
