If its tied by the system does that mean if a 3DS owner buys a new system for themselves, they have to give out a new friend's code to everyone?

Does it also mean that if you sell your DS, you are selling your friend code too?

not really, cause you will reformat it before selling it and it should give a new friend code.

Nintendo just announced that the 3ds is their best selling handheld so far. But they didn't say the actual number and we have to wait till NPD releases the stats.

Nintendo handhelds must sell very poorly at the start, then. The reception seemed pretty tepid to me at best. I wandered in to my local Game Stop over 3 hours after they had opened and I was the first person to buy one. They were hunting around for the games because they didn't know where the 3DS games were kept. I've heard there may have been up to 2 or 3 people at other stores, but overall it does not seem like a smash hit... yet.

Yah I'm thinking the same thing, I'm very curious to how well it sold.

I'm still thinking the Wii 2 is coming out this year for christmas and that's why they didn't wait for the 3DS to be release this year's christmas period.

It's still very easy to buy one, I guess Nintendo wasn't lying when they said there wouldn't be shortage.

There aren't any killer app Nintendo titles yet either. When Zelda and the other big hitters come around, it'll be a different story. Oh, plus it's expensive for a handheld.

Gah .... I knew it.

They were intended to make it like that in the first place, imo. So there's no way user can transfer the content of their 3DS when they lost / change / upgrade the handheld

I checked our sales and since launch we sold two. Yet only one game. Marketing is really low for this system it seems. There is no consumer buzz for this thing.

According to Eurogamer it sold in the first two days 113K in the UK compared to 105K (Wii) and 87K (DS) while the PSP managed (187K).

303K in the whole of Europe.

I can't speak for Steel Diver, but Pilotwings Resort and Nintendogs and Cats are definitely great Nintendo games for the 3DS.
