SLI is for crazy insane people! You dont need it if you're buying the most powerful cards.

Dont think about a motherboard as SLI compatible or not. Look at the features it has and the max cpu power it can handle for upgrades. If everything looks awesome dont be turned off if its sli or not. Just grab it.

I'm actually not a huge fan of Asus. They do have some good boards but they also have some real crappy ones too. Which is unfortunate. I like to read reviews before I buy any hardware, which is why I like newegg.

Asus > Abit
BUt Gigabyte is pretty good, and usually cheaper too.

Well motherboards is a different story. And yes MSI are class in boards aswell. Good price with alot of features. I'd still have Asus at the bottom of my list. Overpriced and usually something retarded willhappen. I loved their first forage into the PCI-E world. I forget the name of the board but every site would give them 9/10 as usual, then a month later its noticed the north bridge heatsink is a POS and heats up causing the system to freeze. You had to buy a new one to replace it. Thats only the recent one I remember. How come every other board is always fine? Asus are like sony to me.
