Having problems viewing images at the-magicbox.com?

If you have problems seeing images in this site, and you have an Internet Security program (such as Norton Internet Security) installed in your system, please try to disable "Browser Privacy".

Example for Norton Internet Security 2003:

1. Open the Norton Internet Security Control Panel

2. Click on "Privacy Control", choose "Configure".

3. If you have "Turn on Privacy Control" checked, click on "Custom Level".

4. In the "Customize Privacy Settings" page, uncheck "Enable Browser Privacy".

5. Click OK and accept the settings.

Example for Zone Alarm:

1. Open the Zone Alarm Control Panel

2. Click on "Firewall", choose the "Zones" tab.

3. Add a new site, set Zone to "Trusted", and enter "http://www.the-magicbox.com" as the host name.

Hope this helps out everyone who has had problems!

I can't watch any of the movies from the SEGA E3 media files on the main page. I keep getting this message with the Windows Media Files saying that it can't stream because the website can't be found or is busy, and this only happens on this site. I was trying to watch the Sega Eyetoy and Alter Beast games. My ZoneAlarm couldn't find the magicbox site either. Any ideas?

Well. If I turn off my ZoneAlarm, I can view the videos now.

That's probably because the server is really really busy, you know it is still the E3 time right now, all major servers are overloaded.

Some helpful tips from Rubeus

Quote:
That's a way to prevent someone from hot-linking images off the server, many smaller game sites use this anti-hotlink feature, like Sugoi and RPG Fan.

Basically what it does is checking to see if the current webpage is where the images are originated.

If you have a firewall that filtered out this information, then of course you will not see any images on the site!

---> So if you add this site to the "trusted zone" in your firewall, then next time your firewall will allow this URL information to pass to the site, and then you can see all the images from here!

What browser? Also, some images linked offsite could have changed, thus the reson for the images not showing.

Somtimes they do not work. But the tags are [IMG.]http://www.imagelink.com[/IMG.]. Just make sure that you take the "." out of each tag. I think it comes out as a link whenever the source page has something that blocks hyperlinking...

Quick question, since this thread has something to do with images. Does anyone know the dimensions of a web-browser window? I'm talking about the part where the content shows, not the entire window (not the addressbar, menu, etc).

Depends. Some users have it full screen while others have it as a floating window. There is no standard.
