They hold anything. They're like a mini harddrive.

eh? I dont see how a raid server is portable. Unless it something special I dont know about.
And year, the mp3 way is probably better. Run around with 20 gigs or so instead of 200 or whatever. |

No, you can download anything onto it. My friend would download games and porn from work and put them onto his mp3 player and bring them home. It is a mighty device.

You can on some, my mp3 player doesn't allow it, you're only allowed to transfer through Real player, most do however.

Although the Mp3 player holds more, their more expensive. And I dont listen to music on the go really. So I looked for something thats big, and at a reasonable price. This is $300 but I think its worth it for the amount of GB's.http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...B+Flash+Drives
Especially when they are charging $350 for this 1GB one.http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...B+Flash+Drives

Memory sticks is the word I hear them called SpaceManSpiff. The ones I seen you have to buy the memory separate. Littel SD cards is what you put in them. Is that what your talking about?

gah, what an annoying site with its stupid area code requests.
http://www.isystor.com/usbfirexdriv.html Go to the link above spiff. Click on any of the numbers, 40gig, etc. These are portable hard drives. You just plug them into your USB socket and you can use them. They are very cool for taking stuff around to friends or leeching things off others computers. The mp3 players work in the exact same way, and you aren't spending $300+. These things are excellent. Ofcourse dont buy a drive thats slower then 7200rpm. The Hitachi are excellent aswell. If you plan to buy something then do a search on that model number and you'll find alot of places, like zdnet I think it is, where people put in their opinions. Best way to find out if a product is crap. |

My mp3 player was $200 for 20GB, and although it doesn't hold files, a friend bought a different type for the same price and same size that held all file types. It's not up there at $300, you pay double the price for half the size of a portable hard drive, but you get the ability to play the music if you want it.

I'm not sure, I know another friend that has the "Creative Zen Jukebox" and he said it has said capabilities, but I don't know for a fact whether or not it does. I'm planning on buying the Zen, and I'd suggest checking it out. Don't have a link though, my apologies.
Edit - Nevermind, yes I do! Last edited by Arahenion; 02-20-2004 at 10:50 PM. |
