Here's a link I stole from dog$ (Hope you won't mind dog$) ..It's a review for the game and you can see a couple of pics. You'll get the basic idea behind this game. Still need to buy it though..Border Down is keeping me bizzy for now.
ps: dog$ You are right Border Down is a wh0re ;)

Yeah it is ~ also cool that Border Down 2 is on the way eventually.
This is very neat in that a DC Shiki 2 has been rumored for a while but never confirmed. I feel somewhat guilty for not buying it but much like the upcoming Psyvariar 2 I'll buy the game for the system where I already have the first of the series (ie PS2). Oh and Pilotwings the worldwide release will come whenever BitTorrent hosts get the ISO ;) |

Yeah I was surprised that BD 2 was allready in the works (Just got the news as i'm walking behind with game news these last few days) .. freaky. Psyvariar 2 the will to fabricate looks like a great game also.Is BD 2 also heading for the DC?..any words on that?
On a side note: Do you think the DC is secretely becomming (or allready is) a shooter paradise? What's your thought on that one dog$?

Fortunately for all I am not dog$, but I will answer your question anyway:
Both the Genesis/Mega Drive and/or Saturn were much more of a shooter's paradise than the Dreamcast. Those systems had TONS of GREAT shooters, wheras the DC unfortunately only has a handful. |

I donno, I think by now the DC has enough entries to really make it the catch-all shooter system. As great as Thunder Force 2-4 is and Gaiares sorta is, I don't think the Genesis or any 16-bit system should be called the #1 Shooter Platform now.
Then lesse- Saturn Thunder Force V Cotton 2 Darius Gaiden Steam Hearts Strikers '45 1 and 2 Soukyugurentai Playstation G Darius Einhander Dodonpachi Raiden DX Shienryu Night Raid Gradius Gaiden and then the Dreamcast Mars Matrix Giga Wing 1 and 2 Zero Gunner 2 Gunbird 2 Ikaruga Border Down Psyvariar 2 Shikigami Shiro 2 seems about equal to me, across the board. Hell if Thunder Force 6 wasn't cancelled there'd probably be no doubt in my mind that the DC would have everything essential. |

You are forgetting quite a few Saturn shooters from Psykyo like Battle Garrega and Sengoku Blade. You could also play Thunder Force 2, 3, 4, and Arcade on the Saturn.

Well with Ikaruga,Shikigami No Shiro 2,Border Down that is quite a quality lineup allready (I was actualy referring to quality and not just quantity). While Saturn have Radiant Silver gun wich is a powerful one, but so is Ikaruga and IMO Ikaruga is the best. While Shikigami No Shiro introduced you to something wich force you to go even closer to the enemies if you want a higher score wich is a killer factor and sure will deliver exciting moments as you'll be closer to danger, for me that's the right direction in revolutionize the shooter genre. Maybe the shooters on the DC kind brought them back in the small spot they have next to other bigger genres...hmm? Now if only the DC had DoDonPachi Dai-Oujou. But that's in camp Sony.
