Kid Icarus: Uprising - long time since Nintendo charmed me
Thought Nintendo would never make some interesting besides F-Zero's franchise, Zekkyo Senshi Sakebrain, Joy Mech Fight and to a lesser extend Star Fox's franchise (love rail shooters/3d shmups, hate furries).
But they manage to do it, with Kid Icarus: Uprising nonetheless. Never touched the original 2 entries of the series but this looks crackin'! Arcade style rail shooter/3d shmup goodness, I'm really impressed. It does need more aggresive enemies, a little bit faster (see afterburner) more bullets, but I'm sure that's because it's some showcase demo, made real easy for the press. Third person action segments don't look to shabby either. Come on Nintendo spill the beans, whose workig on this ex-SEGA employees from the golden years? Treasure? Can't be those old cats that make those snoring mario, zelda and metroid borefests.

Looks like a good game, certainly, but it doesn't have any of the original's charm. I'm wondering why they even bother calling it Kid Icarus. It's trying to be all badass like all other games these days. From platformer to rail shooter... logical I suppose. No arrows? Nah, this is Kid Icarus, he doesn't use arrows I guess.
I bet the bosses take a billion hits. |

couldnt be arsed to create a new thread.
Famitsu gave this 40/40. Thought it would be interesting info for fans of this game, or those interested in it.

Final Fantasy 8 made the gunblade cool.
The game does look pretty cool. I think it's slowly clicking that I'm going to be buying both the 3DS and Vita somewhere down the line... I thought I could resist one of them, but that just isn't going to happen. God dashit.

Famitsu and Nintendo, sitting in a tree...
I'm sure that KI:Uprising will be very fun, but perfect? I seriously doubt it.

Hah, yeah. Famitsu have been a bit off with their reviews to be honest. Didn't FF13 get a 39? Ignoring them, gameplay wise is still does look and sound quite cool. Be interesting to see how it turns out.
