The Official Iphone Recommended games thread
No matter how much of a gaming enthusiast anyone of us can be having the slightest knowledge of maybe one tenth of the whole I phone library is nearly impossible. Learning so would require so much time that is probably sinful to waste.
What the iphone could achieve in quantity of games in three years is roughly 50% of every game made since 1970 till 2010 for all known home, handheld consoles, PCs and Arcades games. That's a total of over 40,000 games for i phone alone in that short period. Surly with that many games comes many hidden gems and that what this thread is for. We need every member recommendation. Just a list of names would be sufficient. I will try to document every signal member recommendation in this main post so that everyone can refer to at anytime. Even, I might make an Excel file for it including everyone suggestion. Each member recommendation would be treated separately as in a game may be recommended even if someone else already recommended it. Since all is document, if possible try to add a simple (not necessary accurate) rating system for your recommendation starting from D (not very sure but still worth mentioning) to A (a must must PLAY!!1!) Hopes that’s proof helpful to everyone. Cheers. |

Awesome, I was looking for a thread like this yesterday, but to no avail. Thanks for picking up the slack! Here's my favorite iphone games, the ones with a star are HIGHLY recommended:
*Age of Zombies: Twin Stick shooter with some great 16-bit style and charm. Angry Birds: Popular game, and for good reason. Easy to play, addictive, and cheap. Bejeweled 2: Classic matching puzzle game. Cubed Racer: Isometric racer in the vein of RC Pro Am, but with randomly generated tracks. Cut the Rope: Neat physics puzzler with charm. Dead Runner: 3D style runner game with a spooky twist. Dodge trees and other obstacles to see how far you can get. Death Worm: 16-bit version of that one Kevin Bacon movie. Eat 'em up! *Dodonpachi Resurrection: Cave shooter, awesome graphics. Nuff said. Drop 7: A match game that'll make you think! *eBoy FixPix: Not so much a game, but a neat jigsaw puzzle collection of sorts, but with some really badass pixel art! *Espgaluda II: Another great Cave shooter! Flight Control: Land different types of aircraft. Relaxing gameplay. *Game Dev Story: Awesome, awesome game. One of my favorite iphone games. Highly addictive! Run your own game company throughout a funny and parodied history of real game consoles and companies. Companies will periodically release new consoles every generation and you stay in demand by making games for them. Really hard to describe, but recommended. *Hellsing's Fire: Interesting and charming puzzle game that uses light and potions to slay baddies. *The Incident: Super retro platformer that uses the accelerometers to move your guy on the screen. Junk falls from the sky and you must avoid it while also using said junk to climb your way higher and higher. What's at the top?? *Infinity Blade: Demon's Souls lite??? Epic Games Unreal engine powered iphone game. Best graphics on the iphone by far. Explore and fight your way to the top of the castle where you face off against The God King. King of Tennis: Simple game with 8-bit music and graphics, make sure the King is watching the correct side of the tennis court at all times! *Mirror's Edge: Great runner+platformer set in the Mirror's Edge universe. *Monster Dash: 2D style runner game where you shoot down monsters in different locales. *Pix'n'Love Rush: Retro platformer with very stylish graphics that upgrade with the more coins you collect in a combo. Get hit or die, and you lose your combo and the graphics downgrade. Quick Hook: 16-bit style swining+running game with charm. Real Racing: Gran Turismo but portable! Previous title holder for best iphone graphics. Awesome racing with multiple ways to control. The sequel is coming out in December. *SCRABBLE: Classic board game, now with online play with friends. *Shibuya: Excellent spin on the classic tile drop puzzle game with most excellent music by MillionYoung. Very dreamy and relaxing. *Spider-Man: Total Mayhem: THE best action platforming beat 'em up on the iphone, with a wise ass Spidey! *Star Wars: Millennium Falcon Gunner: The best augmented reality iphone game. Control the gunner on the Millennium Falcon to shoot down TIE fighters in your living room or wherever else you point the back facing camera! Enemy on your tail? Do a 180 spin around and zap them out of the sky! Really disorienting and nauseating after a while though. *Street Fighter IV: Neat portable version of SFIV with really great controls. *UFO on Tape: Film a UFO sighting and try to keep it in frame while a French woman berates you when you lose track of it. Eerily realistic looking. Last edited by Risky; 12-12-2010 at 10:59 PM. |

Solomon's Boneyard is a awesome survival/highscore leaderboard game. I play it for hours. It has 5 mages that you choose from and they each have their own magic that you level up and find items.
the game gets serious hard after like 30 mins which is how long I can survive for, other people have lasted well over 1 hour! I was like WTF!

Wow comprehensive already, obviously Angry Birds is superb. I also like Froggy jump. A bit like Doodle Jump but free. NOVA is a decent shooter which I enjoyed alongside Sonic 4... Although that game is too short. Tiger Woods golf is ok provided you like Golf. Monkey Island brings back memories. Personally I am not a big handheld gamer. These games just pass time on the commute...

Download games means to pirate. It is all free. And we really don't keep up, that what this thread is for so that everyone shares what little he has. Little by little we'll end up with something.

I don't get the huge appeal to Angry Birds. it's alright I guess if you just like flinging birds around to kill pigs.

there really isn't a need to pirate games on it, almost all the time the games go on sale for free, almost every game I have on it were for free.
You just got to know where to check where they update the list all the time. I've already downloaded over 200 apps, I've deleted over 140 of them Sooooo many shitty games.

I've played all of the games on my list extensively. Shibuya is by far my favorite puzzle game on the iOS for the music alone. Everyone should try it.
