R.I.P Windows 98
For many, your first proper contact with a home computer, R.I.P old pal, no matter the number of times you screwed up and I had to ask nicely to use the internet and check nobody was on the phone.
Microsoft has basically left it for dead now, no customer support, no spyware/virus updates, nothing. There's progress, enjoy the great computer desk in the sky anyways. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/5172798.stm |

Most wretched OS ever made. 3.11 was 100 times better.

Me too! But I only used it for my Mickey and Donald games because I was 3.

welsh win98 is an OS and not a home computer. For most of you your first home/personal computer experience was an ibm pc compatible which is very likely what you are using now unless you have a gay thing for macs. Some here may have started on an amiga or an appleIIe. Fewer would have started on another platform. The first personal computer I played with was a TI I had hooked up to a black and white tv monitor.

My first computer experience was a computer that read everything from cassete tapes, including games, like some lightgun game and a very cool ninja gaiden type game.
I wonder when windows XP will die off.

The Amiga was excellent. Though my first foray into pcs was the Amstrad. Then off to IMB compatible.
