Siliconera has some import reviews. For import RPG reviews, I usually stop by at RPGFan.

They used to have a US site...it was where I'd go before I found Magic Box. As for now, the only place I find import reviews is Netjak.com, and that's because I write most of them over there.

The problem is trying to get the foreign developers/publishers to ship you a copy of the games, because if you don't get a review copy (and I never have) that's somewhere in the area of $60 a review, and it's not like everything that comes outta the Land O' the Rising Sun is awesomeness and worth holding on to. Sites like IGN and Gamespot put previews of the games up, but they're so shallow, I get the feeling it's something their previewer plays once, grabs screenshots and posts a one paragraph blurb of. I started writing reviews of them just because...that's a lot of cash to be shelling out for a game, basically blindly, so someone needs to give out some info.

But, frequently while the game is in Japanese is the only chance you have to play the game without it being completely dissected, GameSharked, and FAQed from behind so everyone knows every secret to the game within 3 days of a US launch. (Europeans, I feel even more sorry for you.)

If you're curious, the next Japanese game I'll be reviewing is Rasetsu Alternative, whenever that gets shipped to me.
