While Spector did make mistakes with Invisible War - I don't think he was responsible for the complete failure that it was. From what I know, Eidos wanted the game on the consoles in order to boost sales of the game and that ended up being a catastrophic failure.
Regardless, I still think he has potential. Deus Ex - at least for me - cemented him as an excellent story-driven designer.
I'm hoping his next game will match or even exceed the standard Deus Ex has set, in terms of quality.
