That and video card prices are getting more and more outrageous.
Also next-gen consoles aren't even released yet so it's hard to gauge how much performance these new cards will offer with the new games and graphical fidelity.
It took many years to even reach a constant 100+ fps for 1440p and it wasn't that long ago - that started with the 2080ti which still struggles in games like rdr2 (gets 75fps on highest settings).
