Maybe because it's the first time seeing an RPG in a "higher" resolution and that sticks with ya? To me the game looks sharp for that very reason. It actually does run in a higher resolution than most Genesis games. Most Genesis games are stuck at 256 pixels wide, where as PSII goes the full 320, as do the Wonder Boy games on Genesis and several others, but not enough.
