Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia announced for 3DS -- A re-imagining of the 1992-released Fire Emblem Gaiden.

Nintendo has announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for 3DS. It will launch on May 19.

The game is inspired by Fire Emblem Gaiden, which released exclusively in Japan in 1992 and helped to define the series’ signature style.

Shadows of Valentia re-imagines Gaiden on a grander scale. It features dual protagonists, Alm and Celica, who join others locked in a tragic war dividing the continent of Valentia.

The game offers free-roaming, dungeons crawling with enemies, flexible character progression, and everything that made Fire Emblem Gaiden unique. It promises “classic Fire Emblem gameplay with a twist.”

Amiibo figures of Alm and Celica will launch day and date with the game.

In 1992, the second game in the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, launched exclusively in Japan. Now, for the first time, fans outside of Japan will get a taste of this classic game on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is inspired by the 1992 original, reimagined on a grander scale. Every aspect of the Fire Emblem Gaiden game’s presentation has been updated, along with the game being fully voiced. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia recreates classic Fire Emblem gameplay with a modern twist, mixing in exploration of dungeons crawling with enemies. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will launch on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems May 19. Characters from the game, Alm and Celica, will be available as amiibo figures in a two-pack, also on May 19.

New Fire Emblem title announced for Switch -- Full-fledged Fire Emblem due out in 2018.

Nintendo has announced that it is developing a new Fire Emblem title for Switch. It is due out in 2018.

The new title will be the first full-fledged Fire Emblem title for home console since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for Wii in 2007.

Fire Emblem Warriors launches for Switch, New 3DS this fall

Fire Emblem Warriors, announced for Switch at last week’s Nintendo Switch Presentation, will launch for not only Switch, but also for New 3DS systems in fall 2017, Nintendo announced.
Fire Emblem Heroes announced for smartphones -- Due out February 2 on Google Play.

Nintendo has announced Fire Emblem Heroes for smartphones. It will launch as a free download with optional in-app purchases on February 2 on Google Play, and soon on iPhone and iPad. Google Play pre-registration begins on January 19.

In the game, you’ll wage strategic battles and level up Heroes from throughout the Fire Emblem series.
You’ll assume the role of a summoner and call upon Heroes from throughout the Fire Emblem series to assemble your dream army.

Maps are designed to fit your smartphone screen. Drag an ally to the enemy unit to attack or use traditional Fire Emblem controls. Maps require you to take advantage of terrain and plan carefully to achieve victory.

The iconic weapon triangle system returns, and you should plan your strategy around enemy attributes to ensure success. Characters in Fire Emblem Heroes are depicted in brand-new art, hand drawn by a variety of artists, and brought to life with newly recorded voices.

Alongside the main quest, other modes in the game like the “Training Tower” let you to level up your Heroes. As Heroes gain experience, players can use rewards they’ve earned to acquire new skills, level up Heroes, and increase ratings.

Nintendo has opened a website where users can vote for their favorite hero or heroine to be featured in Fire Emblem Heroes for an in-game event.

Fire Emblem Heroes is an original strategy RPG about two warring kingdoms in a bitter clash. As a summoner, players build their army by calling upon popular Fire Emblem heroes from worlds that span the breadth of the series. Players will wage tactical battles streamlined for on-the-go play and level up a mix of new combatants and legendary heroes. Some familiar hero characters will become allies, while others will become enemy generals. The global community’s top-ranked hero and heroine will then be featured in Fire Emblem Heroes as Choose Your Legends event characters. Nintendo Account holders will receive a Platinum point bonus for voting.
