There's no word on a price tag or a firm release date for either game as of yet.

About the Game
“A deserted island…a lost man…memories of a fatal crash…a book written by a dying explorer.”

Two years in the making, the highly anticipated Indie remake of the cult mod Dear Esther arrives on PC. Dear Esther immerses you in a stunningly realised world, a remote and desolate island somewhere in the outer Hebrides. As you step forwards, a voice begins to read fragments of a letter: "Dear Esther..." - and so begins a journey through one of the most original first-person games of recent years. Abandoning traditional gameplay for a pure story-driven experience, Dear Esther fuses it’s beautiful environments with a breathtaking soundtrack to tell a powerful story of love, loss, guilt and redemption.

Forget the normal rules of play; if nothing seems real here, it’s because it may just be all a delusion. What is the significance of the aerial -- What happened on the motorway -- is the island real or imagined -- who is Esther and why has she chosen to summon you here? The answers are out there, on the lost beach, the windswept cliffs and buried in the darkness of the tunnels beneath the island… Or then again, they may just not be, after all…

Dear Esther is supported by Indie Fund.

Key features:
Cliff Bleszinski has urged Japanese developers not to ignore multiplayer if they wish to improve their standing in the global game marketplace.

Responding to internal and external criticism of the Japanese industry, Epic's design director told Gamasutra: "My advice to Japan is that in a disc-based market right now, you cannot [ignore multiplayer].

"I'm not saying tack multiplayer onto every game," he added, before citing Shadows of the Damned and Vanquish as examples of games that could have benefitted from a multiplayer component.

On Grasshopper's Shadows of the Damned, he said: "It was a beautifully crazy game with really fun gameplay, but no multiplayer co-op experience in there. I'm not saying tack on versus; there's a billion different ways you can do some sort of 'players interacting with other players.'

"And if you're going to make a third-person shooter... the fact that Vanquish didn't have a multiplayer suite was a crime. That IP, it was pretty good as far as being Western, but the gameplay was great, the vibe... and I've often said on record that if Gears is the kind of Wild, Wild West coal train chugging along, that Vanquish is the Japanese bullet train, with style and everything. And there is absolutely no reason I shouldn't have been zipping around, doing the mega slides, diving up in the air in an arena with other players."

Bleszinski went on to praise From Software's innovative approach to multiplayer in Demon's Soulsand Dark Souls, which he believes will "inspire a lot of Western developers to figure ways that you can have connected elements in campaign games, and have more of a blended experience".

Looks like they didnt find a buyer for the chain and now shrinking their costs. Funniest part was this one guy bringing back 2 games he didnt want, who was told last week by one of the workers that knew the place was closing down that the games were shit and he shouldnt waste his money. Guy bought them anyway, tried to return them yesterday and was told SORRY no returns on games. And all your store credit from returned games? LOL

I tell you the sooner this returns for console games rule is abolished by denying used game trade-ins the better. It will give me a shitload of entertainment.

Saw this post on the site today:
Capcom expects to ship

Biohazard / Resident Evil 6 - 7 million units
DmC Devil May Cry - 2 million units
Dragon's Dogma - 1.5 million units
Lost Planet 3 - 1.4 million units

Personally, I think they're underestimating DmC's selling ability and are being over-optimistic about Dragon's Dogma. They're probably dead on with Resident Evil 6.

This is a free mod for Arma 2 (must also have Operation Arrowhead expansion) that probably captures the horror the zombie apocalypse in a game yet.

You start off in a random location within a Russian island. You have a pistol, some clips and some beans. From there, it's up to you. You'll search for supplies, making sure to keep yourself hydrated and fed. You'll need to move quietly, noise attracts zombies. You'll see another player in the distance looking at you.

This man might just be happy to see another human, knowing that power is in numbers....or he might just simply want to kill you for your can of beans.

And this is what is making this mod extremely popular right now, the social working between strangers and friends in a post apocalyptic environment. It's not really the zombies that you should fear, you know their motives (nomnom). It's the people you should fear. You don't know what they want and what they'll do to get it.

Oh and if you die, you are dead. You lose all the items you've collected from the start. And when you start again, you start in a random place, with a pistol, and a can of beans.

Just reading comments by players, many of them love telling stories of events that transpired during their 'life.'

Oh, and the average lifespan is under five hours at the moment.
A dangerous venture into a town costs the team. Shit hits the fan at 3:15.
Someone decided to check out this road flare that was on the road...

As a result of this mod (likely), Arma2: CO has shot up to #5 on Steam. No doubt fueled by people who want to play this mod.
