Favorite PS2 Game To Date

A lot of great AAA games has already come out for PS2. So out of all the ones that you've played, which did you like the best?

I didn't put any Imports, because I don't think that many people here plays those.

GTA3, this is simply the best game I've ever in a long time. With that being said, I can't wait for GTA4, and Mafia which is like a GTA game in the 30's.

Yeah GTA3 was a great game. And I can't wait for the next one. Theres rumors that it might be online. And theres also rumors for the Miami add-on.

...Isn't Mafia coming out for Gamecube, or will it be multi-platform. The 30's setting does sound interesting

Thats great, I was worried that I miss out on it since I don't have Cube yet. I'll mostly get one when Metroid comes out.

...Mafia sounds really promising right now. I wonder if it will use the same game mechanics as GTA3. I hope theres driving involved.

GTA is my second favorite game...there are lotsa things to do, such as "slaughtering":D, and jacking new vehicles and "survive" against the Army:p

MGS2 is pretty cool. After getting all the dog tags, I was verr very dissapointed with "the so-called-reward:mad: " on Konami?s website.

MGS2, GT3, NHL 2002, THPS3 are all worth the vote for me but i've seen em coming.

For gta i never played the first and second more than a few rentals but i'm going 92% with gta3 and i'm still not tired of it!!

Well seeing as Final Fantasy X hasn't come out in England yet, and MGS2 has, I'll vote for that one. Although I have to say I really enjoyed Z.O.E a heck of alot too. And Devil May Cry's fights are the best thing I've played for a long time.

I have to go with ffx (sorry mgs2 ) i always loved rpgs because they are challanging and the looooong hours you have to dedicade yourself to the game to beat or find everything !!! plus rpgs always help my with my fantasy and creativity so i can draw !!:D

Yeah, I like this community. So far there hasn't been any trolls, bashers and the like. Hopefully it will stay that way. At IGN, even the MOD's and Admins argue with each other, which is kinda sad.

...As for the arcade stick, theres one out for Tekken 4, which you have to import. And there might be one for VF4.

I choose "other" but of the titles in the poll I would choose SSX; Tricky. It's the one game I feel has to be played with the PS2 Dual shock controller and with a DTS home theater system.
Right now I feel Ace Combat 04; Shattered Skies is about the best thing going on any console, let alone just the PS2. With it's Dolby Digital sound and a home theater system plus it's graphics AC04 seems like endless goodness. But wait! Tomorrow Thrustmaster is releasiing the TopGun Fox2 Pro for use with AC 04. Now you can't beat that combo with an ugly stick.

You guys should check out the free board IGN, its just crazy. They make some of the stupidest threads and it's Infested with trolls, bashers an flamers, all on one board. And this one Mod just got bad news from Tal(Admin) about something, so he made a thread at the board saying how all the mods suck. He got flamed by a whole bunch of mods. Now they're trying to Demod him. Which shoul be easy.

...By the way, how was AC4? I never got a chance to play it. But I heard good stuff about it.

AC 04 is like flying and dieing, the replays are out of this world, the graphics are ultra but I have to say that the sound just blows me away.

Eh... I'd have to go for Capcom vs. SNK 2. While it's far from being my favorite Capcom fighter (I feel that even SSFIIXR for the GBA is better), it's superior, in my book, to any other PS2 title. Klonoa 2 and Devil May Cry are up there, too, though. ;)

You know, I think that Frequency had one one of the funniest commercials ever. I mean those worms coming out of the ground with the beat. And then they get run over(with a mower?).

I think it was a big surprise to everyone when GTA3 came out. Even to Sony, Rockstar and DMA. Everyone knew that MGS2 was going to be PS2's killer app, but when this came out, a lot of mines were changed. It was the best seller last year in the US. And thats really good considering it came out in the 2nd half of the year. And wasn't really all that hyped.

I am surprised that GTA3 is still on the top of the sale chart. I played the game like 1 hour or so. I didn't really like it. I am more into Eastern games and that is probably why I am not really interested in GTA3.

I reckon Dynasty Warriors 3 is one of the best PS2 games to date. Its been seriously underestimated, and i think everyone should own this game or be beaten with a mildly large stick.:D

I voted for FFX. GTA3 was great, but I'm more of a RPG guy. And looks the majority also voted for it. :)

There hasn't been too many new games that over takes the list from last year, IMO. So I think some of PS2's best are still on this poll.

ummm.... ffx. i'm not a huge racing fan but i am a huge rpg fiend. i need to be able to play a game for a good month to love it. i know some people can play a racing game that long but i just can't drive in circles for more than an hour or two. unless its against one of my friends. maybe i'll like auto modelista.

For me, the choice was between Gran Turismo 3 and FFX, and I chose FFX. I guess you could say I'm a "rpg whore", but its the game that's had the most resonance for me. The game, and the characters, simply stick with you.
