I wonder if Itagaki has a thing for Dennis Rodman? He's been in every DoA game so far.

Well, it's pretty rare to take characters from previous incarnations out.

But Zack is clearly Dennis Rodman influenced, even though no one really knows who he is anymore.

Definately!

The Worm was an awesome rebounder... despite all his antics, he was one helluva player.

Online retailer GameStop.com has recently changed the shipping date for Tecmo's highly anticipated Dead or Alive Ultimate. The release date has slipped from 09/01/04 to 10/01/04. While this is not confirmation that the title will be seeing another delay, when GameStop changed the date from June to September back in early March, Tecmo confirmed the delay shortly after.

If indeed the title has been delayed, it should come as no surprise to fans of the series. Team Ninja has been known to take their time with highly anticipated products such as this one. For one, the game was not playable last month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. In addition, with Ultimate trying to become the first online 3D fighting game, there are quite a few obstacles Team Ninja must overcome. The delay will hopefully prove to be a beneficial one when the game releases sometime this Fall.

One thing to note about the new date is that 10/01/04 is on a Friday, which is not a standard release date for most games. This probably indicates that GameStop does not have an exact release date, and instead has been informed that the title will ship sometime in the early Fall period. However, this puts Dead or Alive Ultimate much closer to the release of another highly anticipated 3D fighting game, Mortal Kombat: Deception. If DOAU sees another delay, it could lose the title of first online 3D fighting game to Mortal Kombat. We'll have more information on Dead or Alive Ultimate as it becomes available.

I second that  Then again, delays are pretty much expected from every Team Ninja game.

I'm really looking forward to Dead or Alive Ultimate. I was hoping for a summer release, as good games are somewhat scarce at the moment. Too many good games get released in the fall/winter.

BTW, I love that DOA Xbox Nation cover from a couple months back with Leifang on the cover and she is topless and has an Xbox covering her chest. DOA girls....yummie. :P

I think there might be multiple covers of this months XBN. I just got my issue of XBN and it has Kasumi on my cover and the sky is blue with Mt. Fuji in the background.

One thing that I like about how the online play will create the arcade fighting experience in a way. You will be able to have 8 people in a room and will be able to fight it out one-on-one, as other people watch. Then another person will get to fight the winner. There will be that extra presure of fighting in front of other people and showing your skills and trying not to look bad and get smoked. There is also going to be tag team online, which will be fun as hell. BTW, to keep the lag down, online fighting in DOAU is going to be regional. So if you live in Europe, then you will only be able to fight Europeans...same goes for Japan and North America.

i think somethings wrong with my computer, when i look at those scans, in a few of the pics, there are characters that dont have breasts.

Anyone else encountered this problem?

It sounds more and more like the gameplay will remain the same for the most part. DoA games are fun, but due to a weak learning curve and character mastery I'd say that they lack depth.

Sure does look nice though. Ninja Gaiden was awesome, so I'll reserve my opinion.

No sh*t Ninja Gaiden was awesome, but that doesn't automatically aggrandize the DoA series in any way, shape or form.

I second that. I'm constantly going back and playing soul calibur because as of late i've been trying to improve my fighting game (and Ninja Gaiden) techniques. But I've yet to pick up a single DoA game in my collection... there just there for the sake of sayin, yeah I have that, nowadays.
