They've (along with Sly Cooper) definately replaced Spyro and Crash. But unlike Spyro and Crash, I actually like R&C1/2 and Jak II :)

That said I wish they'd take a bit more time with at least ONE of the sequels. They're coming too quick.

02-24-2004, 04:51 PM
I guess they wanna get them out while people are still interested in them.

Ratchet and Clank 2 was my favorite game of 2003. Let's hope for a good R&C3.

Wow, those graphics look sharp.

I am so excited for the R&C3.

Nice. I do hope they skip on the GTA3 elements in Jak 2. While at the beginning the concept of it was interesting, those damn Race/bomb/kill 5 patrol ships kinda missions eventually got on my nerves.

Ah stop bitching. Swear all I heard from you the entire time you played it was OMG GTA ELEMENTS MAKE THIS GAME FAB!

IS it me or are they using the same engine as 2?

02-25-2004, 06:00 AM
I never said GTA elements mke the game fab, you huge bloodsucking dildo. :p I said it made for a nice change - until I played 30 hours of it and wished the GTA elements had been downplayed a little more. :p

As for the engine, its probably the same, The platform stages looked like they ran on the same engine in Jak2 as they did in Jak 1.

02-25-2004, 06:30 AM
Jak 2 looked a little more redone then the first. This one looks like a straight rip.

02-25-2004, 11:33 AM
doesn't matter that much, the engine was/is good enough, as for the GTA elements they were annoying and pretty damn hard towards the end hopefully this one will have less glitches (pal version anyhow).

02-25-2004, 12:25 PM
Engine is good. But you dont think its lazy of them to just rehash it? I'd expect more effort from a game that sells very well.

02-25-2004, 12:27 PM
Lazy yes, but far as I know it didn't that greatly here anyway don't know about the US.

02-25-2004, 02:09 PM
More importantly, is that Sony is assembling a great line-up for the fall season. Led by GTA4, Killzone, now joined by R&C 3, J&D3, Sly Cooper 2, and GT 4, it's rapidly becoming an powerful collection of software. Also, it worth noting that these exclusive games, except for Killzone, are where MS is weakest..specifically in the action platfomer category.

02-25-2004, 03:12 PM
Wouldn't put too much hope on GTA4 or Killzone coming out. I see them getting delayed. GT4 has been delayed like half a year as it is.

Companies haven't even started ramping up for E3 and Q4 is looking over-crowded with blockbusters..

02-25-2004, 04:01 PM
Those are two unrelated issues. One does not affect the other. So, summing up, GTA3 elements in Jak3 or not, MArio still sucks. :haha:

02-25-2004, 06:19 PM
Just goes to show that it's the talent behind the title that makes a big difference. Just look at how Crash and Spyro have destroyed the goodwill that they had during the PSOne days. Now it's R&C and J&D that have gotten good critical reviews and good sales to go with it.

02-26-2004, 12:23 AM
i think they are gonna run these games into the ground, the game dont look much different than the others,i like the series but make people wait and want it more instead of milking the **** out of it.tomb raider anyone.
