I don't know what game could it be, but it looks great. The picks are from a korean magazine and the tittle of the game is just "racing game". If some of you can speak korean please tell us what game is this.

My eyes just had an orgasm.
...I can't read Spanish, but a lot of them are saying Gran Tursimo 4.
07-13-2002, 03:46 PM
I speak spanish. In Spanish forums we are speculating with the pics. There are people who think it's GT 4, others Ridge Racer VI, and another group the new online Racing Game from Sega.
I think GT4 could not be because there are no licensed brands in the stickers.

I doubt that it's another racing game from Sega. They're probably not working on two racing games right now. I could be wrong though.
It could be Ridge Racer. The Symbols on the screen arn't GT-esq.
And are you guy's talking about the new kits? And what about the Performance Analyzer?

This game is called "BATTLE GEAR 3" from Taito, a System 246 arcade racing game!
07-15-2002, 03:53 PM
Sweet Taito always giving us <3...
Now if only it goes multiplatform..
07-15-2002, 04:24 PM
in a translation from the korean, the magazine says that this game it's korean. If thats true can't be Battle Gear 3.
07-15-2002, 11:40 PM
not Battle Gear 3
heh, this game was so long in the making its not even funny
but it was worth it IMO, looks damn good, i would be jealous if it only comes out on the PS2 (which BTW is the only plaform it is on so far, though the devs have GC dev kits now)
07-16-2002, 02:22 PM
I think it is Battle Gear 3, if you look at those pictures scanned from the Korean magazine, one of them looks identical to the pic in Battle Gear 3 preview in Magicbox!
That game can't be in Korean, the pics may be taken from a Korean Magazine but the game should be in Japanese.
I also noticed one of the picture shows a sign of "Tokyo Highway", maybe this is a new sequel Tokyo Highway Battle too? Who knows.

On this board (http://pub111.ezboard.com/fgamingageforumsfrm17.showMessage?topicID=9041.top ic), they're calling the game Fafracer. Could it be? They seem pretty positive. I didn't read all the pages though.
07-17-2002, 02:40 PM
fafracer because one of the programmer who works on the game uses fafalada as his/her nick in messageboards

a full translation could always help, the graphics are the best i have ever seen in my lifetime.

I talked to my friends, who are rabid GT fans, about these pics and they all seem pretty certain it IS GT4 judging from the velocimeter, map, icons, even the tracks which appear to be taken straight out of GT3, same courses and all.
That the cars aren't branded has no impact on the game itself at this stage, as remeber that brands and types are usually negotiated, then modelled and implemented into the game at a later stage.
I'd say GT4 is the safest best so far. :)

Here is new info extracted from http://www.totalracingsims.com
"A magazine had the first scoop on Racing Game in their magazine and provided the first shots that may turn the racing world upside-down. The game looks incredible. Rumor has it that the developer has been creating the title since the release of the Playstation 2. That would make it one of the longest games in development! Let me tell you, it certainly shows. Before I continue on you must be chomping at the bit for a few shots. Below are links to the magazine's article on the title. Nobody has deciphered the foreign language yet but who really cares what it says. The graphics speak for themselves."
If thats true Sony, Namco and Sega will make their best with their new games

I didnt see anything stands out or special about this game, it's just like one ordinary racing game to me....
07-26-2002, 06:56 AM
I agree with "Pika" on this one, I dont see anything here that make my eyes goes orgasmic; just another racing game.
P.S.: It looks like GT4 too me.

OK guys, i read korean (Im korean) and no it is not GT4...its a game being developed by a korean company, but the article won't release the name of the developer or the title (hence the tentative title 'racing game') (hehe those koreans) and another thing, they blurred out the lower LEFT corner of the in-game screenshots, the developers say that that will be a new feature not seen in other racing games, and will play an important role in gameplay. the car looks like an NSX...they promise that all pictures shown are in game...but no further information is provided (title, developer, release date)...ok guys, thats about it, hope that helps, and no its not GT4...Gran Turismo is developed by Polyphony Digital, a Japanese company the last time i checked :D -superRSXs, who reads korean and wants a modded PS2 so he can play Winning Eleven 6...

Thanks for the information

If you aren't impressed by the way the game looks then you most likely aren't looking at it properly and just shrugging it aside as a car game. Look at the water effects. You see any other PS2 game with that sort of water? The cars are really well detailed. The area around it. The game has alot of amazing highlights to look at. I'm looking forward to this one.
08-05-2002, 01:29 PM
Y0u have to admit, it does look good.
08-24-2002, 11:29 AM
So, is there any new news about this game? Did they ever find out what game it is? Thanks to superRSXs, we now know that it's not GT4. So could it be Fafracer? The link Overlord gave doesn't work anymore, but aneep saw one of the programmers for the game on those boards.

There is new info of this amazing Game. It looks like Sony it's going to publish the game outside Korea. for motre info go to next link :

wow...ive been in korea the last two months, and if the enthusiasm they hab for games (although its mostly PC based) has nething to do with it, and with sony showing interest in the game, id go out on a limb and say that it might give polyphony digital a run for its money...
09-14-2002, 08:55 PM
yep one of the programmer posted in a technical forum i usually visited
he knows a lot about ps2 (obviously, since he has worked on that game for a long time), and seems like a nice person
i would like to wish the best of luck for them, though with Sony picking it up, there goes the hope of seeing it ported anywhere else
09-26-2002, 06:02 PM
New images of the game and a name : Ax-Impact. It's no more a misterious game, it's a full reality

Sweet stuff! Thanks for the update Ramsus. Don't post much do ya?
Too bad it's not happening for the GC. I wish Namco would hurry up with the next Ridge Racer so I can get my racing fix.
