Mario Sunshine reviewed in Famitsu: 38/40

Japanese publication, Famitsu, reviewed Super Mario Sunshine in this week's edition. There's some good news, and there's some bad news.

We'll start with the bad news first. We reported a week ago that Mario Sunshine was reviewed in last week's edition of Famitsu and that it got a 35/40. Unfortunately, people are becoming more and more untrustworthy as the days tick by, so it turned out to be a false report. Thanks.

On to the good news; Super Mario Sunshine received a near perfect score in Famitsu, with a total of 38/40, or 10, 10, 9, and 9. The game earned a platinum award, and puts it as one of the highest scoring GameCube games, behind Biohazard (Resident Evil).

Super Mario Sunshine is due out in Japan on July 19th, and in America on August 26th. We're going to have massive coverage of this one, so keep checking for that. In the meantime, dream of all the Miyamoto goodness...

You can't go wrong with that formula.

Looks like this score is fake. According to this (http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~nanko/), it wasn't reviewed this issue.

Here's the GameCube games that we're reviewed though:

On-the-spot powerful professional baseball 9 8/9/8/9 : 34/40 - Gold

Beach Spikers 8/7/8/7 : 30/40 - Silver

Disney Sports:Soccer 8/7/7/7 : 29/40

Water Looper Mutsu 6/6/6/7 : 25/40

if u are not lying, then 38/40 must be a good game, i had my doubts, but 38/40 was what FFX got.

I just copied and pasted this from another website. So, I'm not lying either way. And I said that, that might the false number. So it's kind of rumor. We're not sure.

...FFX got 39/40. FFXI got 38/40. Super Mario 64 got 39/40.

Is "Famitsu Cube & Advance" a separate magazine from Famitsu?
Why are there so many kinds of Famitsu magazines?

Each kind devotes more focus on a specific platform methinks, and so ranks and reviews games bearing this in mind. Usually it rates games higher than the parent magazine.

'Course this could all be lies...
