Remember racing games like that aren't that popular in Japan so they mark em' down.

Anyhow great score there for Fatal Frame 2 that's good too see aswell and a nice score for Wild Arms Remake even better news.

What's with Capcom and bringing over GTA type games?

To make money! GTA3 is closing to 300K in Japan, I think The Getaway, GTA Vice City and True Crime will also make decent money in Japan as well.

That sure never seems to happen with any GT game.

Is Pokemon Collseum out over there or very shortly? I didnt think it was so soon but Famitsu have a review!!!

It scored pretty well. It must be still heavily focused on the battling however....

And I wonder if the Getaway will sell over there. Afterall, it and GTA are two different sorts of games. The Getaway is less freedom orientated, less cartoony in its violence and a lot shorter.

Yes but GT's the big cheese I remember Squaresoft publishing Agent Under Fire in Jp surprising how it's suddenly did well when FPS's generally don't in Japan...

As for Capcom I believe they are releasing aload of american style games in Japan such as Mark Of Kri, Getaway, GTA3 and Splinter Cell there are others I cant' remember. It's a good way of getting extra cash and only needing to translate.

Just remeber GT is a japanese product and it entered and was a big hit in the Japanese market WAY before it came out in the west. ITs not that driving games aint popular in Japan - I think the Ridge Racer series (despite its quality being questionable) and the gT series proves that wrong. ITs jsut that its not often that great driving games are out in Japan - and as for PGR2, I guess its low score maybe either

A> Deserved

B> Due to Japanese dislike of foreign made games

Tokyo Extreme Racing also performs nice in Japan, ofcourse no where near GT, but not bad for a title that came out of nowhere and has the feature when you change something outside your car you can actually see it and is based on the street racing of Japan.

Yes but how do they score? just because the new Namco Racer scores low doesn't mean it'll sell low.

If they expect a racer to preform on the level as Gran Turismo then that could easily cut into it's score. I prefer more simple racers myself that I don't have to get to involved with and can pick up and put down easily. I'm not a car enthusist, and thus I know little about cars and making them go faster other then what the game tells me. I know little about how to alter handling and so forth. I drive one from point A to point B and that's about it. As a result I tend to go with games like Mario Kart and F-Zero that don't require a lot of work on my part. I've been looking into R:Racing Evolution because it looks to give me the appearance of some nice quality cars with a more simple approuch to racing them.

I'm no car enthusiast really, although theres a few that do peak my drool meter, like the RX8. But normal racers for me lose their enjoyment factor very quickly, unlike GT which keeps me there for months. Love the handling in a realistic car racer.

played it, it's pretty good though very basic. Has a nice battle system where you can press A for Mario to attack, B for Luigi (or the little green guy as he's known in the game most of the time) you can also jump the opponent's attacks.
