DMC was a tight game. it has wonderful gameplay, its fast, it has great graphics, and Dante is just straight up tight. As for Gungrave, i've seen a video showing great gameplay, tight new looking graphics mixed with anime style, and the action scenes looks hecka sick, plus he has some BIG GUNS!! i think Dante is about to meet his match. I personally think that DMC is the better game right now, but that might change when i play Gungrave. what do you guys think?

We'll see when Gungrave is out... But DMC was surprisingly good, even for me (I'm an RPG gamer)...
I hope Gungrave will reach it's high

no game will ever beat Devil May Cry, and when you get sparda, its just over.
If Gungrave gives you more choice of weapons then just the guns and rocket launcher that we see in the video I'll lean more to its side.
But right now I say Devil May Cry because it had kick ass hand-to-hand action! and turning into a demon ... can Gungrave top that?

I haven't seen that video of Gungrave, but i think I saw a picture of the guy on a bike. Which is cool, about time somebdoy tried to copy that Akira bike chase.
You guys have overlooked Onimusha 2, this game is more enjoyable than Devil May Cry to me.

I loved DMC, especially how it changed with the different difficulties.
BUT Gun Grave looks like it is going to be bad a55
The game i'm really looking forward to is the new Trigun game.
OOh can't wait

6 month old topic.
Should get more replies now that GunGrave finally came out. And theres atleast two people here who imported it.
Both of these games have great funfactor great style of doing there thingie but i'll pick DMC more because of the story I'll label Gungrave more in the area of mindless shooting around game(still enjoy it though) while DMC still got a great story !
DMC it is!!
ps:Wondering how's the gaminglife going for Xiggy!!

OMG! Where have you been? This place just wasn't the same with out you. ATMA missed you a lot. He even cried himself to sleep one night.
...You have a lot of catching up to do, especially in the FFC. :D
I also got Kingdom Hearts a while ago. Loved it. Beat it last weekend, with secret ending. Still have to go and beat Sephy though.
And Gungrave is my most wanted game that I won't pay $50 for.
If you're having trouble logging in, always try to on the main page, no where else. Or just don't log out.
Hope you come back for good!

Hey, we posted at the same time, and insulted each other! This brings back so many memories.
...Anyway, yeah.

I've played both, and Gungrave is no where near a quality game as DMC. DMC has so many different play mechanics throughout the entire game. DMC has great artistic value, imaginative game play, go-any-where-do-anything gameplay with 60fps and flawless controls. This game is a bonafide cult classic, and a success.

i never really liked dmc so i'm guessing i won't like gungrave either seeing as it's more repetitive than dmc (is that possible?). nothing against those that dig the dante, but i felt like i just had to press two buttons in an alternating rhythm to get through that game.

my thought's along the same lines. i want to see the cinemas in this game and experience it just once, but i won't pay full price for it.

You obviously haven't played it on Dante Must Die then. Trust me, it's no button masher. :)
...Any places where I can just download the cut-scenes? This is from the same artist as the one that created Trigun, right?

Which is better? Who knows....
When you think about it DMC is getting 1000x more coverage. Even non-gamers and people with other systesm have heard of DMC. Does that have to do with DMC coming out sooner? Yeah, but at this point the dice have been cast and DMC is getting so much more coverage its not even a contest.
If all things are equal "the game you have heard about" is the better game for most people.

Well I never understand why people try to compare things. I love Devil May Cry and think it is quite stylish game. I will buy DMC 2 without hesitation as I am a loyal Capcom fan (Onimusha 2 is coming to me soon too)
On the other hand Gungrave is quite stylish but the reviews said it is too short so I will not buy it. (I would if I had a modchipped PS2 on DVD room) because the game looks really cool. Maybe Sega will listen to all the critism and make Gungrave 2 a much longer game.
Anyway to sum it up. If I like I will buy both nevertheless.
