There's a little. Not sure where I found it, though.

Sounds interesting...hope we get it along with La Pucille. :)

That's a long line in the first pic. is that the only house with Cable or something? I do like those little sprited characters.

nice, but the brutal truth is that, visually, this game doesn't look all that different from disgaea. seriously, i bet you could've sneaked in a few pics from disgaea and no one would have known the difference.

n e ways, regardless of that nippon icchi is certainly fast becoming one of the more interesting developers to watch. i only wish they'd gotten more attention back in the psx days as well...

eh i disagree, I think Dsgaea looked way better than this...this game better have some freakin SWEET gameplay bc graphics arent gonna sell it.

I believe the Atlus interview in the Official Disgaea Strategy guide said that if Disgaea did well that they'd bring over La Pucille. Well, so far Disgaea seems to be exceeding Atlus' expectations :)

How well is Disgaea doing in US anyway?

Graphically it does look a LITTLE bit better than Disgaea - using a variety of textures and details, like the cobble road, for example.

However, its puts PS2 graphic potential to utter shame. Cant they sue better textures? Better polygonal models? I'm sure even with all the lighting effects going on, the PS2 can handle a lot more than that.

That being said, the game isnt really about the graphics, but the tactical battle engine, and thats really whats going to sell the game.

Graphically, Nippon Ichi should look to Square's upcoming Front Mission game for an example of how good a Tactical RPG can look on the PS2.

Nippon Ichi is still using 2D sprites in the game instead of 3D polygons, there is no way they can take advantage of the neat 3D effects.

Notice all the characters are still in 2D?

Notice how most SRPGs still use 2D sprites on 3D backgrounds?

Most companies don't have the resources to throw at an SRPG that Square-Enix does. In fact, I'd say NO company would do it. FM3 was a pretty big budget affair...and S-E is putting even more resources into the series.

Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see really high production values in SRPGs...it just isn't realistic to expect them from a company outside of Square-Enix and perhaps Banpresto (who's games we don't usually get so it probably doesn't count).
