Solar System Like Ours Discovered!

Space News:
The world's leading planet-finding team, who have been finding new planets for 15 years, announced a long hoped for event. They have found a system of planets that is very similar to our solar system.

University of California astronomy professor Geoffrey Marcy and Paul Butler of the Washington Cargnegie Institution said that there is a jupiter-like planet that is going around its own Sun-like star that is almost identical to our Jupiter and Sun.

"All other extrasolar planets discovered up to now orbit closer to the parent star, and most of them have had elongated, eccentric orbits. This new planet orbits as far from its star as our own Jupiter orbits the sun," explained Marcy.

Actually, this morning I heard that in fact two different teams have discovered solar systems with planets like ours, so that would mean two discoveries of solar systems that could possibly sustain life.
Although this is great news and all, it's rather unfortunate that we'll likely never be able to send any probes to these solar systems to study their planets and see if any of them do indeed harbour extraterrestrial life, whether simple or advanced.
I'd personally prefer simple.:D

It doesn't really matter, how many light years is it away from our solar system? Like 300 million years?

Well here's something funny you guys ever heard of that a certain astroid missed the earth by just 120.000 miles or km wich is a third of the distance from here to the moon so YEAH IT WAS PRETY CLOSE ..and here comes the funny part the "scientists" saw it a few days later after it past our blue planet!!But yet they have the abbility to see new galaxies wich is 300 trillion light years away and can't see an astroid wich is the size of a soccerfield passed by !!:(

The system is only 41 light years away. So what we're seeing really happened in like 1965, right?

They said it woulda had the same inpact as what happend in 1908 or something in the northern part of Syberia!But imagine if it did fall somewhere like in the middle of an oceaan or in any major city !!!Yikes!!:(
