Where can I get avi format video?

My computer doesn't have avi and there is a lot videos that need it to be played. Can anyone help me?

I did some searches but couldn't find anything.

avi is a wrapper format, so it may use one of several different codecs. i'm assuming that you need to access a divx movie, try http://www.divx.com/

You may need XVID as well, it is another widely popular format like DivX.
