Help!! im computer illiterate

I really want to learn how a computer and its programs work, but I dont know where to go. Can anyone point out any web sites or a book I could buy that just teaches about general computer stuff for people like me?

Thats not an easy question. All programs are different and the computer works in so many different ways that you cant use just 1 book. To learn more also means working with them aswell. Takes a long time to figure out certain stuff. If you know how to play games, I think thats all you need to know :D

meh I went to Amazon.com and saw a PC for dummies book. Thats the kinda book for me.:D
