Ahhh can not stand the pain

(Hope they do not simply increase the graphics but the dump story as well, and remove those silly comic inbetweens sequences)

I thought the story was pretty good. The in game comic book cut scenes were cool too, added some originality to the game. If you hate comic books....then I guess I could understand why you would hate these sequences. Most the people I know though either thought it was ok, or thought that it was pretty fresh how they did the cutscenes.

Well I like comic books but only when they are proper done and not like this - hey we have found a cool photoshop-filter-style. Pretty useless, pretty uninspiring, pretty bad. Nuff said.

The comic sequences were awesome. The style was gritty, the atmosphere was sombre, it fitted the style of the game prefectly, and I'll think pretty much every reviewer agrees with me on this. But hey, maybe its not up your alley if you prefer something akin to the Amazing Spiderman, eh? :D 'Nuff said!

Don't believe so, I've read enough reviews which agree with my opinion as well. Its a matter of taste. And well I think it is badly executed. A pitty as Remedy original consists of a lot of talent scener guys which actually can draw. As you can see from the textures in the game, they are top-notch.

So ...you like the idea to use comics (graphic novel would be more appropriate) but thought they were poorly drawn?

Correctly. Look at XIII for example it has some real comic feeling which is well executed with cool panels-playing, split-screening, etc.

I'll drink to that (Gin + Tonic w/Lime salutes you) as I wasn't too keen on the art of Max Payne, but I loved the idea. It helped reinforced the dark crime ala Sin City. I hope they up the cards a little.
