What does this mean for the Xbox!?

Eh- it just means it was only a matter of time before it would happen. The guy that did it has already contacted M$, and let them now about it. He also discovered that each xbox's serial number is stored as data in the xbox, and that this could become a means for people to locate specific machines.

Apparently he did it in three weeks and using a total of $50 worth of equipment.

Only a matter of time before someone else figures out how, and posts it online...*

M$ can't be too happy about that- thoughts?

*It goes without saying that M$'s legal SWAT team would be all over that..

Funny.

They're gonna be coming out with XBox mod chips pretty soon. And wasn't there also something about Linux?

Hehe, oh yeah- forgot about that.

All of this allowed the user to install any programs they wanted, including Linux.

Haha, that's great- I bet it made it run better too. :D

What do the xbox owners think? If a mod chip does become available, would you use it? Would it matter, to you?
