Check this (retarded) Review! (http://www.cube-europe.com/review.php?rid=72)

Overall the graphics look fine, a little Manga style throughout the game gives it a nice atmosphere. However they definitely do not reach the graphical limits of the GameCube. The backgrounds aren?t really dynamic, although it gives you a nice 3D feeling. I think this was an intentional decision because you shouldn?t be too much distracted when you?re playing

Answer:How about the game is a port from the DC..ports for 99% of the time won't really use the newer system's true power. And Ikaruga didn't use all the DC powers either!!

One of the elements which make the game hard is that the screen area is small in width; this gives you little freedom to move around.

BS!! It makes it even better for you to concentrate for when your building you COMBOS ..this is why Treasure made this game this style..not for you to play the 5 lvls in 30 min and move on to the next game. This game is about combos and having a screen like this is just great!

A nice and probably the most important feature of the game is the light/dark power element. This basically means that there are 2 types of enemies, black and white. When you?re protected to light attacks for instance, and get hit by a dark missile, you?ll die, and, as you would have already guessed, vice versa. Your ship can absorb one of the 2 powers, depending of which element you?ve chosen. This can be switched at any time with a simple button press. So if you're protected to one of these powers, you're able to absorb this power and you can unleash a special attack after a certain amount. A special meter will show you how much energy you?ve absorbed. Also, the absorbing black/white powers are the only power-ups in the game. This sounds simplistic, and it is, but it can result into a very exciting gameplay.

Forgot to add that because of this colour changing feature, the game goes deeper than just shooting your way through. It might be a revolution if not evolution well atleast it's something new for the shooter genre!

When hoards of enemies and missiles come towards you in every possible direction, where you have to manoeuvre yourself through small glitches with moving walls and those same enemies chasing you, you?ll get a picture of what you?re up against. Welcome to how games used to be made.

Well said!:cool guy:

As I said earlier, Ikaruga has only 5 levels. But it takes a while to get your way through them. If you get through them, that is. Because of the high difficulty level, the average gamer will probably give up after a little while, leave him frustrated and dissatisfied. The 2 player mode is fun though. This could increase the lifespan of the game a little. Playing the game with one of your mates every now and then, take your mind of things. The game can be finished just under 2 hours if you get the hang of it. In that case there is not a whole lot more to do. For those who can?t get enough of the game, there are a couple of things that can be unlocked, such as an art gallery or a new game mode. Good luck with that.

:too mad: BS!! Whatever happend to the combo system??! This is what the game was made for, not for people to go through the 5 lvl and move on. Treasure's games are known to have a huge lifespan..ask anyone who's familiar with Contra 1,2,3,Gunstar heroes,Alien Soldiers,Radiant Silver Gun,Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh and non Treasure games like Gradius and R-Type.

That review isn't all that bad really. The worst one ever was X-play's video review. It had some bimbo chick playing the game and crashing every two seconds on the first level, ripping apart the game as being "both impossible and stupid, with bad graphics and not enough levels".

I heard about that chick. She really sounds like she knows her stuff:haha:
