Yes, and you'll most likely still be eagerly waiting for in 5 years from now! :D unless somebody besides those lazy bastards at Valve are doing it... which as long as it's better than the first HL, I'm all for.

Looks strongly like valve actually was able to keep a secret. The valve rep even claims that Half Life 2 is much more mod friendly :). cool stuff.
Valve already screwed up with TF2, and they are a smart company. I'm quite sure that they learned their lesson (it sure seems like they have).

hint: it won't be as surprising of a game, hence it won't be as good. I loved HL, and there are many reasons that it was nearly unanimous game of the year. but the worst competition HL2 has to go against, is HL's reputation itself.

And don't for get about Counter Strike Condition Zero... they screwed that up pretty good as well... if I remember righ if they hadn't of played Hot Potato it would be out right now.

CZ was a terrible idea from day one. HL2 is in a whole different league.

Yeah, but i'm talking about developer track records, so far they've tried for 2 titles, undershot and totally missed the mark, who's to say that they won't go for strike three? but still... I doubt HL2 will be worth anything... but hopefully it won't be made just to show how good they can make it look like Unreal 2 was.

Now heres a man who knows his games... I can't wait for Thief 3 either, except I've learned to control my muscles... that is unless my girlfriend.... NEVERMIND! :D
