Tribes the Next

Anyone know anything about the next game set in the Tribes universe? I know it's still kinda early to be talking about it.. but at least the new dev team looks to be heading in the right direction.. whatever that may be.

No more bioderms though.

Tribes is dead. So is the people that created it.

Though worry not... Theres a MMORPG/FPS in beta stages called Planetside, and a might add it's really good... it has everything Tribes had and more.

Tribes is in fact NOT dead. It lives on.. in the hears of those who've played it. :rolleyes:

Seriously though- they're making a new Tribes game. Not a sequel (no bioderms) just the next one...

I know about Planetside.

Planetside sounds cool.. but not $10 a month cool. Plus it doesn't have jetpacks.. ^_^ And have you noticed how similar to T2 the screens look? (Dave G effect, I'm sure) Eh.. we'll just have to see..

Now this might just be me, but I remember reading at GameSpy that the development team that did Tribe 1 and 2 had to close office.... and even if they are making another one, expect to wait a long long LONG time, because Valve and Sierra are not so good about getting a game out on time unless it's No One Lives Forever 2 or AvP2.

Sierra closed them down shortly after T2 was finished.
Then they brought in some to try and fix T2.
...
Then they brought in someone else to try and fix T2.
...
Then they sort of forgot about T2.
...
Then they re-released T2...

Anyway...

Now they're making a new game set in the Tribes universe.

This is the first I've heard of a new Tribes... but after Tribes 2 I just can't really get excited, personally I don't mind the 10 bucks a month to play planetside.
