Here's one place to check (http://promos.mcafee.com/speedometer/), and another (http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/).

I usually get something around this:

2.691 Mbps
(344.43 KBps)

I heard AT&T had a 1.5Mbps cap, but it might have changed now that it's Comcast.

Yours?

Took the second test..(The first one won't react or give me results, you can expect that to happen with Overlord's links most of the time :D )

1035121.14 bits per second
1 megabits per seconds
126.4 kilobytes per second
8.1 seconds

Not sure if it's fast or not...it sounds very fast though.

Look at the pretty picture at the bottom of the test to show where your connection is so you can laugh at the 56Kers and their modems. :D

Btw, the first link sometimes gives you a really big file to download, though it's usually 600KB. Just a wait a while after clicking the button.

I took both tests, they averaged out to a meagre (for cable) 100kbps.

Which ISPs do you guys have? I'm under Rogers Canada (the only cable I can get here).

I have AT&T, and I think they changed their name Comcast, or they were bought, or merged, I don't know. :2happy:

...Right now, the bill is only $20 a month(US), and will be $40 after the first six months. The modem and installation also came free with the special, though. And I do think the speed cap was raised a little after the name change.

as fast as fast can be:haha:

no, seriously. i tried the first test and it was a joke. the second test said, "Your raw speed was 557937.63 bits per second......"

557.9 kilobits/sec
68.1 kilobytes/sec
15 sec

then they said, "Compared to all connection types worldwide, yours is fantastic."

that is my rating.

:D

ATMA are you running on DSL or what? What type of connection do you have? Yours is pretty fast.

Well it's okay (even though my provider is also the same provider that SATAN has! When it comes to money issues) But if I was living in the southern part of Holland it woulda be much faster. A friend of mine was dwl a movie about 9mb/sec it's not fast but way faster than mine, and also the internet cafes here in Amsterdam are prety fast too!

Oh I have Cable! FFXI/True Fantasy will own my wallet!
