That was supposed to be the RPG to get for the holidays. Is DQ11 going to fill the gap in North America?

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom delayed to January 19 -- "More development time is required," says Level-5 president and CEO.

Bandai Namco and Level-5 have delayed Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom from its previously announced worldwide release date of November 10 to January 19, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and PC.

“We have decided that more development time is required in order to deliver the full Ni no Kuni II experience to our fans,” Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino said in a press release. “I deeply apologize to those who have been looking forward to the game’s release. Please rest assured, however, that we will continue to strive to provide a deep and satisfying single player experience that our fans can look forward to enjoying.”

Watch a message from Hino below, in which he also corrects a statement he made at E3 2017 regarding online multiplayer in saying that the game will not have any multiplayer contnet.

DQXI is coming this fall? Didn't hear anything about it.

They are most likely delaying it because there are to many games coming out or something happens every year. As for DQ11 no chance... maybe the end of 2018 if we are lucky.

If there's no DQXI, what RPG is filling the gap?

A Mainstream JRPG? There isn't one this year unless Xenoblade manages to release in December which I have my doubts about.
