Is there a successor of 3DS in the works? Like a Switch Mini?

New 3DS production ended in Japan -- But 3DS isn't going away quite yet.

Production of New Nintendo 3DS units have ended in Japan, according to a notice on the handheld’s official website.

The current lineup of 3DS hardware still in production in Japan is as follows: New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 2DS XL, and New Nintendo 2DS.

Interesting. I haven't bought a 3DS games in a little while. I didn't really see a need to buy the New 3DS.

Nintendo should just get all their teams to focus on the Switch since it's pretty much going to take both portable and console market.

Apparently, they still make tons of money on the 3ds eshop, which is why it hasn't died out yet considering new retail games aren't coming out as much anymore.
But most people do buy the XL version, I have one of the normal size and XL of the new 3DS, only cause I bought them for 14.99 each. mawhwhhwaha!.... I actually have 7 of them unopened that I give out as gifts when birthdays come around. haha.
