City Shrouded in Shadow now PS4-only, launches this fall in Japan -- Evangelion Unit-01 and Gamera confirmed.

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has the first update on Bandai Namco and Granzella’s sci-fi survival action adventure game City Shrouded in Shadow in over a year, confirming the title is now PlayStation 4-only (it was previously also due out for PS Vita) and due out this fall in Japan.

The magazine also confirms that Evangelion Unit-01 and Gamera will appear in the game as “giant shadows.”

Visit the newly relaunched official website here: http://knst.bn-ent.net/

Features:

Ultraman, Nise Ultraman, Alien Zarab, Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Evangelion Unit-01, The Fourth Angel, Gamera, and Legion will appear.
Additionally, a highly mobile giant shadow from a fifth work will appear alongside gunshots and sparks that cut through the darkness.
Voice actors include Takuya Satou, Satomi Akesaka, Reina Ueda, Ryouta Takeuchi, and Yuuko Kaida.
The protagonist and the heroine will escape together, hand-in-hand.
There will be Granzella-esque choices in the game.
Development went PlayStation 4-only for various reasons.
Development is currently 75 percent complete.

Stages

Giant Shadow 1: Ultraman, Nise Ultraman, Alien Zarab
Giant Shadow 2: Godzilla, King Ghidorah
Giant Shadow 3: Evangelion Unit-01, The Fourth Angel
Giant Shadow 4: Gamera, Soldier Legion

Characters

Male Protagonist (voiced by Takuya Satou)
Female Protagonist (voiced by Satomi Akesaka)
Yuki Kano (voiced by Reina Ueda)
Hideyasukuni Ootsuka (voiced by Ryouta Takeuchi)
Risa Kashiwagi (voiced by Yuuko Kaida)

The Protagonists

You can choose to play as a male or female from the beginning of the game, as well as customize their name, occupation, clothes, and hairdo. You can also choose the relationship between the heroine and protagonist (“lover” or “friend”).

Interview Tidbits: Granzella’s Kazuma Kujo and Bandai Namco’s Kensuke Tsukanaka

People run away from the huge monsters you would often see in the special effects shows and anime from your childhood. We started by making a game where you can experience the feeling of being one of those people.
As you would expect from a Kazuma Kujo game, there will be many choices.
Depending on your choices, the heroine may come to think that you’re a terrible person.
You won’t dare to see the end of the fight between Ultraman and Nise Ultraman. Because the hero is, to the bitter end, an ordinary person.
Each work won’t crossover. You will experience various situations for each work on a stage-by-stage basis.
Since we’re focusing on completing the main game, there are currently no plans for downloadable content. However, is it under consideration.
Development is currently 75 percent complete.

Yeah, I heard about this a while back.

It's being made by the people who do Disaster Report.

Think of it as Disaster Report, but with monsters instead of natural disasters.

It looks interesting but they have to put the Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters in order to sell it to me.

I'm sold on this. Now, if the game is good, then even better!

Disaster Report PS4 never came out in North America right?

What are the chances this game comes out here?

Probably never. It would be cool if it did, I was surprised when J Stars came out over here with all the Jump series in it. So I guess there is a small chance, just matters who has the balls to release it over here.

DR hasn't come out in Japan yet either. We might get it.

While there are indeed slims chances I take this one than any of the lazy efforts that Irem did in the past.

And in the amazing age we live today you can just pass a kickstarter initiative to fund this game's localization.

Disaster Report 4 isn't out in Japan yet but we should get it.

As for City Shrouded it's possible but the more Manga/Anime/Shows they add to it the less likely we are to get it because licenses. NB US/EU should already have the licenses for Godzilla because of that other game. Evangelion might be problematic because different companies in America and Europe own the licenses for Evangelion.

I said the same thing about Puyo Puyo Tetris and J Stars Victory Vs. And yet, they both came over. (After I bought the Japanese versions!)

So, it's always possible!

Or Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Project X Zone.

Yeah it's real!
