Square Enix has announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to PlayStation 4 on October 11.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will arrive on PS4 in a new 20 Year Celebration edition, which includes the full game and all content from the Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass, which means Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened, and all DLC outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards. An art book will also be included for anyone who pre-orders.

The 20 Year Celebration edition will include a new Extreme Survivor ultra-hard difficulty for the main campaign, as well as three new pieces of playable content. The first is Blood Ties, a combat-free narrative-focused story in which Lara explores the Croft Manor to discover new information about her family. PlayStation 4 will exclusively offer PlayStation VR support for Blood Ties, which is played in first person with the headset, as opposed to the standard third person perspective.

A separate zombie-filled combat chapter, Laraís Nightmare, will also be set in the mansion and sees Lara fighting enemies in a hellish version of her family home.

The final new mode in the 20 Year Celebration edition is a new co-op version of Endurance mode, in which players attempt to survive for as long as they can while keeping track of warmth and hunger meters. The longer you last, the more experience youíll earn, but if you donít manage to successfully reach an extraction point and escape, youíll lose everything.

Finally, classic polygonal Lara Croft models will be available to play as in Expedition modes, as well as a new cold weather outfit inspired by Tomb Raider III.

Anyone who purchased the Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass on Xbox One or PC will receive all of the content above (minus the PS VR support) for free on October 11. The content will also be included in the Season Pass (along with all of the previous content) for anyone who purchases it moving forward. The new content will also be made available separately on PC and Xbox One.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was originally released for Xbox One on November 10, 2015 and came to PC in January of this year. For much more, be sure to read our Rise of the Tomb Raider review and check out how Rise of the Tomb Raider's new modes feel like Dark Souls, Gone Home, and Resident Evil.

I still do not understand the "season pass" concept. Does that mean you pay for content that you can only use for a year? Who the fuck thought up this? Please tell me I'm in error.

"All the dlc is included" are the magic words to get me to buy a game.
