Although 10% is really low, why don't you reduce the retail price for 10% from the get-go?

Xbox Survey Asks If You'd "Sell Back" Digital Games for 10% Purchase Price
Would you?

Would you "sell back" your digital Xbox games to Microsoft for 10 percent the purchase price in Xbox Store credit? That's the question Microsoft is apparently putting to customers as part of a new survey that popped up on Reddit.

Assuming a $60 purchase price, 10 percent would be $6. As pointed out in this NeoGAF thread, that may not seem like much. But currently, a digital game has no real residual value as a physical one does.

By comparison, GameStop, a leading game retailer whose business is focused around the buy/sell/trade model, pays significantly more. For example, GameStop will pay you $30 for Mario Kart 8 right now.

Importantly, this is only a survey. It's entirely possible no such program is ever introduced, and if it is, the percentage paid could be different.

Whatever the case, it's a really interesting idea and speaks to the rising profile of digital games in the current generation of consoles. Just this week, CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski told us that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt digital sales on Xbox One and PS4 made up around 40 percent of all sales at launch.

First-parties were apparently super-pleased with Witcher 3's digital share, Iwinski said.

6 bucks on a sixty dollar game? I'd rather let it sit on my hard drive and never play it again than give Microsoft that money.
