The question now is how much the movie ticket going to cost? and can current theaters show movies in 8K?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Will Be Shot With RED's 8K Camera - Ultra, Ultra HD.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be shot in crystal clear 8K using RED's new camera system.

According to RED's announcement (via Screenrant), Marvel Studios is partnering with the company to film James Gunn's sequel using its brand new WEAPON 8K camera.

"We are all hugely excited to be shooting the next Guardians of the Galaxy on the new WEAPON 8K," executive producer Nik Korda said in a statement. "The large sensor size and super high resolution offered by the new WEAPON 8K, combined with its lightweight and compact size open up a whole range of new creative possibilities."

It's currently unknown how much of the movie will actually be shot in 8K, as Gunn and his production team may only be using the camera system to shoot a few key scenes rather than the entire film. A handful of select scenes were shot in IMAX for the first Guardians of the Galaxy, so there's a chance we'll be seeing something similar in 8K with Vol. 2.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 open May 5, 2017 and may star Kurt Russell as Peter Quill's father. In fact, the actor just recently confirmed he's in negotiations with the studio.
