Maybe you can buy the splitscreen co-op as a DLC?

Halo 5 campaign doesn't have splitscreen co-op

I have only ever played Halo campaigns in split-screen, couch-sharing co-op. This streak will end with Halo 5: Guardians, according to this month's Game Informer cover story, because Halo 5 does not support splitscreen co-op, likely to preserve the 60fps gameplay.

If you want to play with friends, you'll have to do so over Xbox Live (contrary to what was initially reported in the Game Informer story, Halo 5 online co-op does require Xbox Live Gold).

The campaign pits Chief and Blue Team against the better equipped Halo: Nightfall's Locke and Fireteam Osiris. Blue Team members will always be present with Chief and if your friends fill them out over online co-op, note that they all have slightly different loadouts.

Gaurrdians of Ga'Hoole will also launch with 20 maps (all free) and add 15 more as DLC by June 2016. New multiplayer features will be unveiled at E3.

LAN isn't an option? You could do LAN with Halo 2.

Not surprising there aren't many games that still do it. Call Of Duty maybe is the last.

Honestly, the only reason they're doing this is so they can sell more systems and copies of the game.

Yeah, no 2 player split screen is a shitty excuse, Halo 2 and 3 made compromises to maintain their frame rates in co-op, 353 is just making excuses because they took too much time focusing on how pretty the game was gonna be. Excluding features that can still easily be included is poor excuse, looks like Halo 5 is off my to play list for XB1.

The last time I played split screen was at a Halo 2 Lan party, kickin' it in 480p!

Poorly written article, BTW. All the multiplayer maps, including future DLC multiplayer map packs are free.
