You might already know that there is a Trigun game is in production. By Red Entertainment and Smile Bit, both part of Sega.

Trigun is one of the greatest anime that I've ever seen.

It should be a great game, mainly cause its one of the first manga-based anime game not being mde by Bandai!

Gungrave also looks similar to this.

Edit: I don't have Vash in my Avater anymore. So I'll take out that comment.

I watched a brief clip of the game. There is no gameplay shown but it look promising. Too bad that, wolfwood guy isn't going to be in teh game. I guess there is no way to revive him.

I like Trigun 1st half. Towards the 2nd half, I felt the story was a bit rushed and there were too many crying themes. Kinda like Outlaw star.

Could either of you folks point us in the direction of any media for that game? I'd love to see what's up so far.

I agree folken001...Trigun was fine up until it got visibly rushed. It could have been the series to beat.

Its good to see licenses being handed out to respected companies now a days. Smilebit is very innovative and their work reeks of quality and high production values.

Maybe someday Sega can pick up the Transformers license and really make a kick ass game.

Trigun did fell a little rushed at the end. But it didn't ruin the overall experience for me though.

There were a bit too many flashback scenes for my taste. But it moved the story along quite well.

psst.. don't jinx it. Unlike Gungrave which is definitely coming to the PS2, Sega has yet to announce which platform Planet Smoking Trigun is going to..

Well, Sega already announced most of the games they're making for other consoles. And there main focus is the PS2(%50 of there games).

So its most likely coming for PS2...hopefully.

No problem. I actually made this thread almost two months ago. But we didn't have many Anime fans back then. In another thread, some people we're interested in this game. So I thought that I'd give it a little bump.

The article is about two months old. So I'm not sure if I can find it. But it was on all major sites. And Sega hasn't announced all there games yet. And it's 50% on the big three consoles. They have a differant amount of games coming out for GBA.

Vash, they don't have any media for it yet. But something should be announced pretty soon.

"At a stockholder's meeting today, Sega revealed their software strategy for the next year and commented on a number of topics. Due to be released this year are 42 games for PlayStation 2, 15 for Xbox, 20 for GameCube, and 12 for Game Boy Advance. No titles were mentioned for PC, but Sega said it was still an important platform for them."

1 out of those 42 games must be trigun!~!~!`!

Fresh old info:

IGN Preview (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/356/356485p1.html) -- With vid.

April 01, 2002 - Perhaps the most intriguing of Sega and Red Entertainment's announcements at Game Jam this past weekend was Trigun The Planet Gunsmoke, a multiplayer network game for an unspecified platform based on Yasuhiro Nightow's Deep Space Planet Future Gun Action manga. The popular Young King Ours serial has run through three separate series (the one subtitled "The Planet Gunsmoke" is the third) of sci-fi/Wild West action on a distant desert planet, and it would make a beautiful setting for an online game. Details are slim for now, but you can whet your appetites with this brief clip from the Game Jam trailer movie, featuring some impressive cel-shaded characters, and look forward to further news soon.

Trigun online?

-Sega announced a new game called The Planet Gunsmoke Trigun for PS2 and Xbox. It will be an online title, and like Gun Grave, it will be developed by Smilebit and Red Entertainment, and will also make use of the Manga Dimension.

Knowing Sega, that Trigun game will probably be nothing more than a huge disappointment like Gungrave and Shinobi. :irked"

I can't say for sure that both those games are failures, since I haven't played them yet. I wouldn't take that 6 that Shinobi got from PSM too seriously. These are the same people that gave ICO an 6. They lost all credibility from me as a Mag right there. And Overworks worked on that game, they have nothing to do with Trigun.

...I see Gungrave as a testrun, and something that the Trigun might be. The Trigun artist worked on it, the same two teams, Red and Smilebit are also working on it. So I'd expect the same people. And they'll learn from their mistakes right here. And ATMA says Gungrave is a good game. I guess thats worth something.

I'd still rather have Capcom working on it though.
