Using MAGIC I predict that a game developer called Bioware will make an RPG game based on a future mascot, Sonic, of Sega on a NINTENDO console. Any takers on this wild and imaginative bet?

Also, Alucard will get struck down by a lightning bolt on 02/28/2008. IN TEH FTURE!

Just remember you'll be playing a game created by a PC developer lolololo

You just blew my mind. I thought games were made via potions from wizards.

@Seraph:How can you assume that it is going to be a J-style RPG though? Just by its looks?

Actually, you are not that different from me who supports publishers I like. You support developers you like, the rest are indifferent to you. Would you support a developer that makes 1 out of 10 games you like? I donīt think so. Same here, I donīt support publishers that bring 1 out 10 games I find interesting, like EA.

SEGA Europe today confirmed the name of the forthcoming Sonic RPG adventure, as being Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Developed by industry admired and RPG specialists, Bioware, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood will appear on the Nintendo DS system during 2008.
BioWare is the award-winning developer that has created some of the world's best-selling titles including the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series, the 2003 Game of the Year, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the 2005 RPG of the Year, Jade Empire and the recent global hit Mass Effect.

The relationship with BioWare reinforces SEGA’s increased emphasis on Western content development for Western audiences. In the past few years SEGA has announced partnerships with developers Bizarre Creations, Gas Powered Games, Monolith Productions, Obsidian Entertainment, Planet Moon Studios, Pseudo Interactive and Silicon Knights. SEGA has also acquired development studios The Creative Assembly, Secret Level and Sports Interactive as well as creating the SEGA Racing Studio.

The only Sonic game outside of the 'Rush' series that I actually have an interest in.

This game looks awesome. Everything seems to be prefect expect the battle system, but I can hardly tell anything with these pics hope it end up being good. I have a feeling that this game would be in par with the best Sonic games around.

PC...? I thought they were a console developer now. :kefka:

Game looks pretty good, I haven't played a decent sonic game are quite a while hopefully this'll be it. Maybe SEGA should get in some more outside developers for there other IPs aswell.

You can develop for every platform under the sun, but before the 360 they were making games for the PC for yeeeeaaaaars. Their console games are still in a PC style. I dont think people realise this.

And technically their games do still get ported to the PC eventually.
They are just a smart company that determined it to be more profitable to make games than run (almost) perfectly on consoles first and than port there stuff to PC second.

I'm probably the minority but this entire game sounds dumb. It has nice painted backgrounds which is the only nice thing I can say.

But come on, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood? It sounds like something straight out of a deviantart fanfic. As if Sonics constant furry drama wasnt enough.

Look at that mysterious dark new furry. I wonder if he has a chaos emerald embedded in his chest that he recieved from his dead father.

Add to that its being developed by Bioware. Bioware is good at what they do, but trying to develop a JRPG? Lets just say I dont have high hopes for this game at all.

0_o seraph! weren't you the one that were saying how you appreciate every developer hard work and effort and how you hate negative meanless unappreciative comments toward many games? I am disappointed on you. I honestly find all of the reasoning that you have just mentioned very weak and baseless and based mostly on hate toward the developer Bioware. I don't even want to mention the reason why you look down on the developers it is just way too biased and sad. For shame!

0_o seraph! weren't you the one that were saying how you appreciate every developer hard work and effort and how you hate negative meanless unappreciative comments toward many games? My comments about developers hard work goes to regards of stealing games. For instance Apollo Justice just came out today, and since Capcom has blown me away with the series I had no problem showing my support by paying full price on day one. Developers can make bad games despite working hard, I only support the ones I enjoy and want to see more of.

My reasoning isn't baseless, its actually very based off what we know so far. I do not enjoy all the furry drama in the Sonic franchise, and this game looks to be taking Sonic even further down that "serious business" path. I've got nothing against Bioware, while I don’t really enjoy their games the praise they get from people like Alucard tell me they are a good developer at what they do. I'm just not optimistic about an American developer trying to capture the JRPG feel. From the games I've played in the past it never turns out good.

The key here is I've now stated my distaste for how this game looks and I will leave it at that. I've expressed my negative opinion once and you wont see me dragging every thread/discussion about this game down. Its ok not to like something Paper as long as you dont constnatly whine about it.
Her name is Shade, and Rule 34 has already taken into effect. It just reminds me of this

This thread got a bit messed up with the rest of the forums, and also dissapeared completley from the recent pages. I'm replying to this post which I found is the 2nd post in the thread, but its directed at me so sorry if it shows up as a double post.

It just looks alot like a JRPG. I could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me.

Staying away from a developer and a publisher are two very different things. A good example with me would be Ubisoft. I dont like the games by most the developers they have, but they are publishing No More Heroes, which is developed by grasshopper studios.

I'm actually a little surprised still that bioware is making this kind of game. They are an awesome developer and I've played their games long before they even made console games. But this one is way different to anything they've done. I like the look of it. I mean to me if I didnt know it was bioware I'd think it was some japanese dev. I'm curious in the title. Will I play it if its good? Probably not. Never could get into the sonic series. But I'd like to see if they can impress sonic fans. They're a solid developer.
