"Microsoft canceled an XBLA release of Goldeneye 007 at the last minute"

Why would they do that? unless Activision wanted to much money.

"Persona 3: FES coming stateside, Next SMT title on PS3"

I would rather they would confirm Persona 4 for a US release, SMT is likely to be on the PS3 though PS3/XB360 would be better as it needs all the help it can get to sell.

That's why you should be careful changing the developer mid-series guess they made a bad choice. :(

SMT is a PS3 exclusive...that has been known for ages. The game just needs to be fantastic and marketed a bit. The cost of porting it to the 360 is too high for a game like that. They'd end up losing money.

yeah same here, though all dynasty warriors games get horrible reviews, yet I love them to death, so who knows

Damn thought maybe they'd sneak a review in there for DMC 4. I'm thinking it'll get an 8.?

SMT has been on the original XB already in Japan. With the sells advantage of the XB360 over the PS3 in America/Europe I would think a port would be worth it even if it was only released outside Japan.

that sucks about kingdom under fire; i was really looking forward to that game.Well this is EGM, same people as 1up.com

I know everyone does the whole "I can't trust the media omg bias" song and dance about every major gaming site. But I disagree, I think EGM/1up.com is quite possibly the worst of the bunch. Its not just the scores they give games, but its the reasoning behind the scores they give. After frequenting their site for the past year and recently getting their magazine for free, I dont give a second thought to any of their reviews.

If I were you I wouldnt give up on the game based off what EGM/1up.com says. If other reviews come in terrible then decide from there.

Sony teaming up with a major japanese publisher to remake old games for PSN

I hope it is not Square Enix again milking all its old games on PSN. :(

But a PSN remake of FFVII is welcome.

And that game's reception is no doubt one of the reasons they won't be the main series on the 360.

It won't be. For one thing, by the time SMT gets released here it will be 2009. The gaming landscape will have changed more in Sony's favour by then and the audience for SMT is very small (very likely to have PS3's by that time).

M$'s lineup is just pathetic. I hope they announce some worthwhile stuff soon.

I wasn't. When I heard that it was no longer a real time strategy/action game, I lost all hope for it.

Odd that Wii has no mention of Fall 2008 titles. PS3 and 360 are looking a bit thin at this point for fall 2008. I will be highly surprised if FF13 makes it out in 2008 in the US. And why can GT5 prologue come out, but not GT5 in the fall? They are really stretching out that time frame there between 4 and 5. And how can they forget Saints Row 2? No RE5?

I wouldn't be surprised...
If SE would release its PSX FFs on PSN - it would undoubtedly sell alot more PS3s - regardless of what critics say

How many times did they release FF1 and 2? It must have sold fair enough to warrant more remakes - imagine FF7, 8 and 9 re-released...

...it's all about the money...

its about money, but its also fan service, I mean people want old classics remade, would you like Chrono Trigger remade? How about a remake of Suikoden 1 and 2? Megaman Legends? Streets of Rage 2? Those games would sell, and make fans happy in the process.

I'd rather SE port the 3D version of FFIII, FFIV, DQIV and DQV to PSN, that would guarantee sales because these remakes never show up on PS before.

Isn't RE5 confirmed as 2009 (same with Alan Wake, now that I think about it).

If anything Sony's line-up is *way* too lopsided towards Fall/Winter '08 (remember *at least* two more big titles are guaranteed...you know Insomnicac and Naughty Dog will release something). Hardly anything exclusive is coming out before September!

M$'s line-up is almost non-existent. Surely they must have some exclusives coming out next year.

Fable 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
Lost Odyssey
Infinite Undiscovery

Its not nothing, but it really isn't much.
But then again, they have a ton of multi-platform titles like Fallout 3 (that tend to do better on console than PC) which wont appear on the Ps3.

Pretty damned close to nothing. Sequel to the most underwhelming game ever made and a couple RPGs that probably won't turn out well. NG2 is pretty much all there is.

Fallout 3 is on the PS3 and will likely be better on the PC. There really aren't any PC/360-only games that have much chance of being better on the 360 if you have a good rig.

Aye but alot of people don't have a decent PC, so XB360 versions are good.

Jade empire 2 has already been confirmed to be on development for the X360. Just remains to be seen if its exclusive or not.

To the trash with Suikoden 1 and 2. I hate the chinese themed games.

Nem

Are you off talking about games u dont know again? :P

The legend of Suikoden is based on chinese folclore but the games have nothing to do with it. Only thing in common is having 108 ppl come together to do something and the title. In no way it evocates chinese themes or history in the game.
