Sup,

Whats the easiest way to rip movies from DVD for viewing on the PC? Into like 700mb or 1.3 gig whatever type video files.

(got ahold of a few foreign movies but my DVD player isn't all region)

- Thanks

Theres some good programs around. Ones liek DVDx and Xilisoft. But really its an absolute nightmare sometimes. Just trying to get that right setting with the right program, and one program looks shitter then another with identical settings. Makes you want to BREAK something.

Probably, tell me the player model. I can easily find one if it's out there for it.

Sometimes the player has it built in to change it like a system code to switch it. My Samsung before it broke could do that. But the LG one I have, needs a software hack which you just put on a CD and the program comes up and you just change it to region 0.

Basically all players are all region free, you just have to break the coding :D

edit

see if your player model is listed here.

The Model is DVP-NS575P.

I don't get the instructions on the site you posted, they also talk of using a PDA? I don't have one...

This is the only thing I can find for this model, apparently sony fixed the player over here after a while so it can't be made region free anymore or play PAL like the other countries of this model can.

You can try it, the number code on this is apparently a bug in the programming where if you set the code to make the disc tray over and over again.. apparently 12000 times but you unplug the player after a while and then do the hack again and set it to 00000 and it should make it region free.

This hack is a little different then the one I had, cause it was a thing I downloaded to make a menu come up.

If you want a cheap region free player like the LG one, I can help you, only cost me 40 dollars from Futureshop :)

This is probably connected but I will ask anyways:
I want to pull clips off of DVDs and save them to my computer to put into powerpoint so I can use them in my classroom; does anybody know how to do that?

I don't know of any good free programs, but there are pay programs that do it fine.

Like this.
