Flip for “Pinball FX” on Xbox LIVE Arcade

Gamers will soon be able to bump and flip in high-definition, as “Pinball FX” will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, Apr. 25 at 0900 GMT (2:00 a.m. Pacific).

Zen Studios’ new “Pinball FX” offers a unique pinball experience for novice and expert gamers. It combines the arcade thrills of traditional pinball with enhanced gameplay and exciting, innovative features not found in any other pinball game. Gamers may control the flippers with their hand or arm motions using the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera or simply use the standard Xbox 360 controller. Pinball FX sets a new standard for realistic ball physics and graphical detail in pinball video games.

5 years later bumpage!

Any Pinball FX2 fans in the house? My interview with Zen Studios (http://www.wpcentral.com/xbox-live-developer-interview-zen-studios-makers-pinball-fx-2-and-zen-pinball) just went live. It's packed with choice development details and exclusive concept art. Hope ya like it.

Meh... :( i dont really get the appeal of virtual pinball games. They make good mini-games on other games though.

They're great when they go way beyond the realm of what real pinball games can do like Devil's Crush does. Having amazing music sure doesn't hurt, either.

Yes, Devil's Crush is awesome.

As the interview states Nem (ahem), videogame versions of pinball are pretty important for keeping the game around, not to mention infinitely more convenient than going somewhere else to play the game. The experience is just about identical other than the screen being digital and the controls feeling different. Besides, I don't know where I could go right now to play an Avengers or Street Fighter II table - the pinball industry kind of died off, so the best option is playing at home (or on mobile devices).

I love the pinball table emulator on the pc. Lets me play all the old great games like Addams Family, Indiana Jones, and Twilight Zone etc. Being able to make your own pinball tables is also pretty cool, though I never spent the time to do it. I actually havent played this devils crush one.

When you lot say devils crush are you talking about this thing?

I want a Pinball RPG. Monsters to hit with your pinball and gain exp and lvl up, explore new tables, cleverly designed pinball bosses and monsters, and a skill tree!

That's a pinball game i'd buy.

You know how I was saying that videogames are an important part of keeping pinball alive?

Well, there's a competing Pinball XBLA/PSN/Vita/etc. game called The Pinball Arcade which focuses on real tables instead of original ones. They currently have a Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-star-trek-the-next-generation) going to fund the licensing of Star Trek: The Next Generation Pinball for their game. It's an awesome idea and the Kickstarter page (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-star-trek-the-next-generation) is a great read, so check it out.

They previously used a Kickstarter to get The Twilight Zone Pinball funded (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-the-twilight-zone), so this one will probably work out too. very cool.

The amount of panic I just had when I thought PFX2 was getting more XBLA achievements was mindblowing, haha.

I might actually have to pick this up for the phones too, it could be a good time killer.
