First time I've seen that clip. I don't know about everyone else who thinks the 3d Sonic games are lame, but I had alot of fun playing them. And I'm definetly going to get this one.

looks nice and fun, just like it should be.

I agree. Definitely looks better that what I've seen from the Sonic on the Xbox360 and PS3 so far.

It actually looks really fun. Almost like NiGHTS but, on foot.

I like it but I don't like the part where he has to hug against the walls. It's Sonic -- why slow him down?

Graphics are actually pretty good for a Gamecube 1.5 game, but the game itself looked pretty dull. Kept waiting for the video to end.

Best thread ever.

I like the look of the game it doesnt look as slow as it orignally did.
But the problem I have is still when you hit something you slow RIGHT DOWN
and it takes to long to get your speed back.

I still thing the Sonic on Xbox360 looks more fun.
(Sonics levels anyway)

I noticed that they changed the way you lose rings too. You don't lose them all this time around.

They don't want the game to be too hard for all the kids.

Seraph

sonic games were never hard in the first place

as long as you practiced how to re-catch one ring whenever you got hit, you were invincible. The only time I ever die in sonic is because of holes, otherwise i walk across spikes like its nothing.

I can see you are a masterful Sonic player. No one has ever realized that before.

Must have not got many extra lives at the end of levels then, huh? :P

I like it but I don't like the part where he has to hug against the walls. It's Sonic -- why slow him down?Because Sonic games weren't originally just games that you held forward and tapped A a few times to get through, there were platforming elements that made the games more fun. This got lost in the 3D jump as it just became racing down a track and hitting bumps here and there to make you start over.

I think the game looks great, graphically it doesn't look better than the PS3 and 360 version of Sonic, but it looks like it will be more fun and play more like a Sonic game should. That's a huge plus for me.

The way rings are lost could have simply been done for E3, a lot of times they simplify their demos so that people have a hard time dying, that way even the sucky players or the games with tough controls can be lived through long enough to be played. It's quite possible that by the time the final version releases, you will lose all your rings as normal.

This got lost in the 3D jump as it just became racing down a track and hitting bumps here and there and FALLING THROUGH THE DAMN FLOOR FOR NO DAMN REASON to make you start over.

Fixed.

I agree. Sonic had some slow elements in the original 2D versions. Something that has even been lost in the new Sonic Advance and Rush versions.

But Sonic is about SPEED.

Sephiroth4909

sonic

adj 1: (of speed) having or caused by speed approximately equal to that of sound in air at sea level

Even the dictionary clearly states that if he is Sonic he should be moving at the speed of sound ALL THE TIME!! :P

But Sonic is about SPEED.
Sonic is more about "burst speed." You go really fast for a while, but then you get hit with some platforming action, rush to the next bit, move on. I mean really, why would Doctor Robonick be stupid enough to fill areas with things that Sonic has little trouble getting through simply by running fast? Yes, there is speed, but there is also platforming. You see both in that video, and some of the parts with speed are far cooler looking than in the adventure games.

While we're on the subject of Dr. Robotnik filling areas with things to impede Sonic's speed/progress, why not just make a huge deathtrap for Sonic and be done with it?

honestly it looks like this sonic game is better to watch than play. Reminds me of rail shooters like Panzer Dragoon.

Didn't play all the way through that one, as I recall. Seeing as Sonic keeps popping up in new games, I'll just presume that that 'deathtrap' wasn't so deadly.
