If that would be a screen from a new point n' click game, I'd have an orgasm.

Seconded. Now I'm far more interested in the game then I was with the DBZ-esque kiddy character designs.

Is this a screenshot or just some sample art? It doesn't look in-game at all... I refuse to believe it!

Meh. Looking at Kameo, I would say that that could be in game.

It's probably not though. I'm fairly sure this game is still in it's art stages.

it says "concept art staff" on the website on top of the screen...

I know, I'm just saying. Given what people ahve already done on the hardware, making that in game identicle wouldn't be that tough.

Hmm, I don't know Bombay. Thats looks pretty tough to me. Especially when thinking of the the tree leaves and grass in this painting in a real time graphics from. Especially with a real time camera. Rare makes pretty games, thats about all they are, but something like that be a lot of work and take a lot of money. Myst walkers doesn't seem to be a company that would have a lot of that right now.

Does not look too hot/"next-gen" for me. I love the style of the gfx tho. But it looks like something similar to this can be done this-gen.

Are you blind? Something that detailed could NEVER be done this generation, much less on the 360. If a game came out that looked like that, it would easily be the best-looking game ever created--nigh, conceived. It certainly DOES NOT look even remotely possible to make by using today's technology. I'd put a game like that off another 6 years. We won't see something that incredible for a long, long time. It's a painting, for God's sake.

Xander have you noticed that is 2D?! Its perfectly possible in todays consoles. Seems to be only a piece of art though.

You sure you're not the one that's blind. What is so great about these screen that makes it impossible this gen or next gen. If we were talking pre rendered graphics movie level then you could say something of this nature as somef the methods like Ray tracing are not yet available in real time. By the way did you see PGR 3 ,I bet you would have said thesame thing
Just looking at 2D games like Guilty gear series and Alien Homonid is enough to convince anyone that the level of detail can be achieved if not this gen then certainly next gen. Lets just wait for next gen cell shaded or cartoon like games.

I was under the impression that it was not going to be a 2D game, but a 3D cel-shaded one. It doesn't matter, since it is obviously art. There's no use talking about it.

That's a painting. It's impossible to jump from a whole generation of crude rip-offs of Jet Grind Radio's cel-shading technique to a perfect 3D reproduction of a hand-painted piece. Perhaps if game graphics R&D people would spend time researching how to get 3D games to look GOOD (like that painting, or anything like that), rather than a superficial chase for "photorealism", we might be close to achieving something like that. However, we're not even on the right track. There are more techniques to discover besides cel-shading. The closest we've gotten is Wind Waker, and that was not only shunned, it also didn't look anywhere near as fine as a painting.

X360 may or may not have the power to render something close to that in 3D, but will we ever find out? I doubt it...most people want to see graphics that do gaudy effects just to show off hardware power, not to actually look good or interesting.

level 5 could probably make something like that next gen

Considering other shots they have shown of CG stuff (the boy with the blue dragon behind him mimicing his punch) is standard 3D fair with a Toriyama art taste. Thus, I'm inclined to think this is just artwork sampling, that, and the fact that the page you find it on is an art page. They are concept sketches, not having been transfered into the actual game yet.

I still think that artwork could be done in real time with effort.

I agree. I beleive that seeing something like that real time is limited more by the time and patience of developers than by the hardware of the next gen.

I am actually blind and I am offended greatly by this conversation. :crying:
