I recently had a chance to preview in it a
video demo at Target, I am amazed at what Retro Studios
Inc has crafted. Metroid Prime is looking to be Nintendo
greatest game in a long time, if not the greatest. The
demo has kick ass visuals, way better than those seen
in Star Fox Adventures. What most amazing is the art
style, there's so much stuff. Broken pipes spewing steam,
to the holographic corridor hallway, alien creature locked
in glass boxes. The lighting effect is astonishing, to the
detail of Samus's reflection on her combat visor. Visual
aside, if I had a chance to play it, I would've had
praised it as much the press are raving over it. Newcomer
to the series will be awed by the impressive graphics,
while old school will feel right at home with the latest
chapter in the Metroid saga. There is shooting, but the
emphasis of the series about exploration is there, you'll
spend a lot of time scanning and exploring rooms.
Sometimes, you'd explored a long time without the need of pulling the trigger.
Metroid Prime is definitely the game of the year to watch.
All I got to say is, if you own a Game Cube and don't buy this,
you must be living under a cave. Non Game Cube should pick
this up with a Game Cube. Metroid Prime is just too good
to passed up. I hadn't been this excited about a game
since Zelda Ocarina of Time over four years ago. Metroid
like Zelda, transformation to 3 dimensional is perfectly executed.
