As you can see, they redid the artwork on characters like Wan Fu, but most of the sprites remain the same. Looks pretty good, though.

Bloody useless SNK. They used to be my favourite fighting game company, but now they piss me off and are only still my favourite cause Konami doesnt really make 2D fighters. Lift your game, get a new fucking engine for once, its dated, wake up, stop pissing me off and do some WORK. Gods sake. It'll play just like the last 3 did. Waste of bloody time.
huh? I know the shots are a bit out of focus, but it looked like a new engine to me...

These are the same old sprites?!
I don't think so, if they are then they still got a HUGE make over. Not to mention in the screen shot Gaira is bald, which wasn't the case last time I saw his old sprite.
Although the screens don't give a lot away it actually looks like SNKP really did what everyone has been asking for and produced a game with graphics that actually take advantage of Atomiswave.

If it animates like Street Fighter III, I'll be in 2D heaven.
Long live the NEO GEO!!!!

It looks a bit better. I would love to see improvement in animation, but besides that I just hope for a fun game.

I just want them to improve the frickin' graphics! From the looks of it, they either used an improved graphics engine or they pulled off a 'KoF 94: ReBout', if you know what I mean.
Though IMO, I prefer Last Blade over Samurai Showdown/Spirits.
Last Blade 2 is my favourite SNK game BTW; Setsuna RULES!
Thanks for the link!

Wanna know his 70% damage combo at a corner?

Just a reminder, it seems this game is either a complitation (Dream match) or a new game;

Personally I am hoping for a Dream match, because I can't stand the idea of yet another prequel with the already messed up nature of the SS timeline in the 2D games.
SS V/0 - SS1 - SS3 - SS4 - SS2

so you have to be in a corner to do the combo?
that is pathetic.
you have to be a sap to let someone stomp you with a 70% damage combo in a corner.
i hope this game is good... for the sake of 2d fighters, it better be.

Gearhound:
Well that's somewhat the case with most characters in LB2 if you want to do the 70% damage combos (though not most of the characters have this), however if you use Speed mode (a mode which alows for extended combos) you can start by doing a jumping attack, then do a short attack chian, then do a Combo Special (button-mashing kind of special move) specificly the chain that finishes with a juggle, and follow with a DM and finish with a pounce attack (where you hit a downed opponent) by that you'll take a lot of your opponents health and you don't have to be at the corner to do it.
Back to topic, if they add Asura to this SS game, damn straight I'll BitTornnet it! :evilsmile

I've got Last Blade 2 for DC. It's pretty spiffy. Not quite as good as Samurai Shodown 1-3 but still very good.
